Why did we pick up Diggs knowing he can’t play?

Wonder what his NIL package was to come here and get paid to rehab all year and never actually play

How did the offseason rb recruiting get to this point where the room is
Amos- bruiser back that apparently can’t play
Jones-MAIS player and walk on
Bentley- good returning back but a victim of favoritism from his position coach
Parrish-RB coach’s favorite and very small and not that durable for the long term
Diggs- sec back but has one functioning leg
How did the staff see this and think yeah this is serviceable for a playoff run in the preseason ????

Throw in that none of our RBs will pick up a blitz to save their collective lives…..which with this OL is a necessity

It was my understanding that Diggs should be available the latter part of the season?

What is Parrish's longest run on the season? It can't be more than about 15 yards.

Here’s the deal… we’ve talked about our running backs, our offensive line, some parts of our secondary, our kicker, some of our receivers and a lot about our coaching staff. Let me sum it up… we just are not a great football team. Just OK, which is exactly what 6-2 indicates with the schedule we were gifted. Sad, but true.

True but it’s been a regression on the offensive side of the ball. I would like to see a graph of overall offense since Lane has been here. I would imagine the decline started 3 years ago……what is that saying? Pro-mindset? If that is the case, what would an NFL HC do if he had an offense that gets worse every year over 3 years?

Not being able to run the ball absolutely fricks this offense.
Both LSU and Kentucky games if we have a competent back neither of those teams get the opportunity to win the game. Cause we’d be able to keep moving the chains.

That is a good point. But it goes further than just RBs. Do you think Walter Payton or Eric Dickerson would be productive with the offensive team we are fielding right now?

I remember reading that there was expectation to start entering play around this point in the schedule. I haven’t read anything that says he has even participated in physical contact as of yet.

Last year our offense was elite. We have almost all of the same players. Our O-line from last year is sitting on the bench this year, which is another head scratcher.

The o line was by far the biggest weakness of the offense last year. Hence why we brought in so many transfers that are now playing.

They played a lot better without Pettus this past week. I’m not saying, but I’m just saying.

Yeah, except Judkins and Wade were game-changers. Their replacements have been non-factors.

I remember Judkins running into the back of the line and falling down more than not.

You weren’t paying attention. We don’t beat aTm, LSU, or Auburn without him last year, and that’s being conservative.

Agree 100%
Kiffin’s offense isn’t the same without a game changing RB. Might be different if we were 2 deep at every spot on the Oline with 5 stars, but we have a collection of serviceable at best lineman.

Losing those two starters is obviously hurting.

But we also haven’t used Preiskorn like we did last year either and that’s on coaching. He is a ghost this season. Our scheme is bad there’s remedy in sight
