Don't forget that it was Neal and Kellenberger that got us another year of NCAA investigations with their question to Tunsil on that draft night.

And Ole Miss fans continue to give him money through subs - blows my mind.

Neal has always come off to me as not only “not a fan”, but an active hater. Ben Garrett is the only one of these guys I pay attention to.

Well, I was wrong - Freeze got canned already.

Would not surprise me if Durkin gets the job. Their defense has been good. Also, there are too many openings and not enough splash candidates

When Neal was a sportswriter in Alabama, he routinely wrote articles trashing Ole Miss. Kind of the same vein as how Danny Kannell hates the SEC. I think Neal has come around a bit but he does tend to want to prove the "not a fan" aspect of his personality by doing an occasional hit job. Plus, coaching searches are good for subscriptions. And in the absence of a coaching search, the next best thing is trying to have some exclusive inside information with the whole "Is Kiffin going to leave" drama.

I’m sure Keith has a plan for replacement as this isn’t his first rodeo with Lane

You would think, but that would be tough if they make the playoffs, as we’d have to simultaneously protect our own players and be negotiating with a replacement.

Yeah we'd basically be screwed and the new coach would be starting from square one without an open portal to build with

Keith is having conversations with sexton. I'm sure he has some kind of idea of sexton is dragging negotiations along or if they are serious about extending his contract with ole miss. At this point I do believe either he knows lane is staying and there's some additional things lane wants to see us do first or he knows lane and sexton are holding off so they can negotiate with Florida, lsu etc...after the regular season is over.
Either way, I'm sure Keith has a backup plan and hopefully his and kiffin's relationship is good enough for them both to be up front about the situation.

Kiffin's words have been weird lately. I honestly think he is 100% undecided. I also think that if an NFL job gets offered, he's gone. I was on the "he's going nowhere" side but there's just something different right now about his language. I will say this, if he takes any other SEC job, he is a moron. I can't blame any coach for making the jump to the NFL. That's the pinnacle of football, regardless if the pay is less.
As I have stated many times, the only thing I care about is 2025 and making the playoffs and seeing how far we can go. It does feel like he is seeing if our crowd can be elite. He wants the same environment against Citadel that we had against SC. That's not going to happen but hopefully we can get the stadium full and fans engaged. It just feels like we are walking a tightrope with this guy. We've filled that damn stadium for damn near every game since COVID with rare exceptions against bad teams. We even had 68k against Georgia State. But its like he's saying shite to embarrass us. It's weird.
If we had to have an interim, it's going to be Golding or maybe even Joe Judge (former NY Giants HC).
I want neither one of these guys as our next HC though.

It has always been my biggest gripe with him . We give him everything he wants. Sure attendance will likely drop against citadel. It would for every team. It’s sandwiched in between 2 likely sellouts.
We don’t all make $900,000 a month like lane. Aside from college football salaries, times are pretty lean for most everyone … it’s damn expensive to come for these weekends . And plus if the team doesn’t shite the bed, there will be the most expensive weekend of all coming up right before Christmas for that hosted home playoff game .
He needs to lighten up on the attendance. When it needed to be on, it’s on. They’ll beat citadel by 40 . People aren’t spending thousands to drive in for that one when they’ll be right back for Florida .
He can’t call us as fans uncommitted when we donate so much money and come to games and yet he won’t return the same courtesy and show that he’s fully committed to us here by entertaining job offers

I can foresee a scenario where the job is given to Joe Judge to keep the roster together and we keep CWJ and Golding to run both sides of the ball. Joe Judge is just a CEO

He’s the hottest name in a batshit crazy coaching cycle in college and might even have some NFL interest.
It’s a lot of noise on the mind especially when trying to seal up a playoff and possibly SECCG bid.

The NFL is a real play here. If we keep winning that solves a lot of our problems. Poaching the DTs that Florida has committed from Mississippi would be a nice little bonus.

Neal is a joke and lost me on Twitter with some comments years ago. He blocked me.

After the Raiders fired him? Not sure he wants some more of this:
quote:
At the televised news conference announcing the firing, Davis called Kiffin "a flat-out liar" and said he was guilty of "bringing disgrace to the organization". The Raiders said the move was made for cause, meaning they would terminate his contract immediately without paying the $2.6 million that was left on it for 2008. Kiffin later added in an interview with ESPN that he was not proud to be associated with Davis's accusations and was actually more embarrassed for Davis than himself.
