Lol. If you think that, you've probably never heard anyone signed by Chess Records. They just watered it down and turned up the reverb.

Do you know that people besides white guys played blues? Shocking, I know. But if that's your criteria, I would've at least went with Paul Butterfield Blues Band or Canned Heat.

It is too bad Haggard doesn't get very many mentions. I have been trying to find his records at the local flea market and have no luck. Gotta find them or they would be broken in half at the goodwill. I found a broken Fleetwood mac record, someone must've hated them.

there's a story that I'm not sure is true, but I believe the source

Merle walked up to a table of women at a bar or restaurant, probably a bar, and pulled out his dick and laid it on the table for them

my source's dad was a Texas musician/singer for many years who knew fricktons of people down there

I will give Texas credit for a few things, one is if you drive your arse all the way down to the bottom and back, you won't hear any of that fake fricking modern-day Nashville shite on the radio

The Bakersfield sound gets overlooked and how much it meant to American history. It was a protest to the overproduced Nashville sound which was smooth and slick. Bakersfield had a twangy electric telecaster and upbeat. The Beatles liked the music so much that they asked the Capitol Records producer Ken Nelson dubs of everything Buck Owens recorded. One of the songs they covered was act naturally.

Outside of the obvious lyric reference, Pink is a tribute to South Carolina bluesman Pink Anderson.

TOOL.

Pink Floyd/King Crimson were the grandparents and birthed TOOL.

In a different genre I would also say AIC.

Looking further back Sabbath.

This, longevity, catalog, the sheer number of classic albums, etc., it’s The Stones by a mile.

2 of my favorites! Got to see PF in '94 when I was in school. I've seen Steely Dan probably a dozen times and will see them (him) again in June!

Floyd, bar none. I was on leave from the Army in early ‘94. Almost went AWOL to go see them in Birmingham…Sadly, I took my arse back to Korea.
