There is good bbq in many places, but nobody is getting consistently excellent bbq outside of the competition circuit. I've never had great bbq at any restaurant in kc, Memphis, or anywhere.
For those who slight brisket, sorry you've never had it done right.
Also, hot and fast can work for bbq. I've made some great brisket at 325. Can smoke a medium sized flat in around 6 hours. Quality of the meat and how it's trimmed is most important.

I have been to all the SEc states and have had both shitty BBQ and great BBQ in each, depends on the dish how I would rank them.
