There are four reasons why hypersonic maneuverable missiles don’t make aircraft carriers obsolete.

1. The weapon itself is only one part of the kill chain. You have to find the carrier group and track its location in real time for the hypersonic or any weapon to have a chance at hitting the carrier.

2. In order to counter the threat of hypersonics the US Navy has devoted resources into extending the operational range of carrier groups making them harder to find and hit.

3. Carrier strike groups are a collective of systems progressively developed and tuned over lifespans lasting decades. Weapons and countermeasures are developed and made obsolete over the span of a few years at a time. You cannot determine obsolescence of a multi decade system due to the ebbs and flows of weapons and counter measures.

4. Most potential adversaries do not possess maneuverable hypersonic anti ship missiles.
We could remove the limit on Canadian Geese so that none of them return to Canada.

Best race baiter in the league.
Trump is the epitome of "don't let perfect be the enemy of good". He says and does some very questionable things, but ultimately that doesn't have nearly as much affect on our lives as the great America first policies he enacts.
This is a really stupid troll attempt. Here’s your attention.

1. Law, morality, ethics, and orderly society exist in many different civilizations that were unassociated with christianity.

2. The ethics of the bible is obsolete. While there may have been some inspiration from Judeo Christianity most of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights was born from logic and reasoning which was birthed in the enlightenment long after the Bible.
I’d rather get 90% of the right policies with 10% crap than 100% crap from Harris. The Puritans that expect Trump to be 100% conservative are fools.

I’m all for dramatic tax reform and would entertain replacing the income tax with something else entirely. However, does it make sense to tax someone near the poverty line? Especially if that person receives wellfare? That doesn’t seem productive.

My bad, I'm used to people pointing to nominal GDP.

Is that the board's definition of recession now?

A = When nearly everyone on this board said 2 quarters of real GDP contraction determined whether or not we were in a recession.

B = When nearly everyone on this board stopped caring about real GDP and started making up their own definitions of recession.

Pot, meet kettle.

Now account for inflation.
Our monetary system is a ponzi scheme that requires new money to be created constantly otherwise the system collapses.
It's almost as if they didn't have a strong case.

One important concept in design is “hierarchy”. You don’t want to make the scoreboard so large relative to the stadium that it becomes the primary element.
I wonder how much of this is due to having a mobilized war economy. Also, how much debt will russia have to get into to make it through the war and return to a post-war economy once things settle down.

You mean when buildings were designed to be ventilated? Contemporary buildings are unfortunately not designed to be occupied without power.
