When you’re the public face of a university and football program that includes dozens of black players and staff members, just have a little awareness how your endorsement of certain opinions might be perceived. And let I checked, nobody was calling for Gundy to be fired. Gundy can believe in OAN and Hubbard can choose not to play for him because of it. Freedom, baby
Can you list anything OANN has done that could be considered offensive, insensitive or even objectively wrong?

A couple of thoughts:
1. I do think it's dumb that a t shirt with a TV network on it has caused all this outrage.
2. That doesn't change the fact that the situation is what it is, and Okie State is in a really tough spot at the moment.
3. Is it just Hubbard and a few former players who are complaining or is it a situation where a big chunk of the team is threatening to sit out? That's two different situations to me, and I think more info is needed (apologies if I've missed some new information, all I've seen so far is Hubbard's comments and a couple of former players).
4. I think it would be dumb if Okie State took any real action toward Gundy over this, but at the same time you have to get the players and the coaching staff back on the same page. Hopefully cooler heads prevail here.
5. Speaking from experience with the Leach tweet as a State fan, I think it's a situation where certain people are going to be offended by whatever they decide is offensive to them, and others won't think it's as big of a deal. It's possible attrition happens (see Fabien Lovett at State), but at the end of the day if Okie State's coaches can mend the fences here then it may not be as big of a deal as it's made out to be.
6. Hubbard is a heck of a player and if he decides to transfer over this then somebody is going to end up with a real steal. Honestly I kinda hope everybody calms down and he stays though, because I think Okie State has the potential to be a really fun team to watch this year.

OAN does spew some whackjob bullshite.
CNN, MSDNC, Politico, NY Times, CBS, ABC, NBC all peddled a collusion fairy tale that never happened.
You wanna talk whackjob bullshite put out by Elites and News Conglomerates. Start there.

If you're stupid enough to follow OAN, you should be stripped of your license to breathe much less coach young adults.

FOX is a conservative news network.

They are nowhere near the same.

If you’re so mentally weak that someone wearing a T-Shirt of a news network outrages you to the point of threatening not to play, you should be stripped of Your license to breathe...btw, where do you get a license to breathe?

Hubbard needs to contact Fields and get his Legal Team involved
Hubbard is a good Student off the Field, solid background, and should petition the NCAA for immediate eligibility due to the fact that Gundy has created a hostile environment
I'll bet money the NCAA caves, he should transfer to OU
Gundy is the same a-hole that made the stmt about, get the players back on the field " we gotta pump some Money throughout the State", ignoring any dangers from CV19 at that time

Am I the only one who has never heard of OAN until this thread?

Even if accurate, who cares how conservative it is? Why should it matter?

Keep your weak minded thoughts to yourself pussy
It’s just a news channel
OAN is no more radical than fricking CNN or MSNBC with their constant bullshite and liberal agendas

Gundy was just being ironic. Mike is just imitating a moron.

I didn’t know what OAN was until this thread, but it’s not like mainstream media is a bastion of intelligent discourse these days.

Maybe it was a free t shirt and he wore it fishing or whatever. Maybe he doesn’t necessarily agree with what they say but wearing a freebie shirt saved him a good shirt. But at the end of the day it’s just a shirt.

Why should it matter?
Because it’s a free fricking country and if the kid doesn’t want to play for a coach that not only watches, but wears a shirt advertising blatant propaganda (OAN openly admits to this), then he should have the freedom to do so.

I got called out on here a few days ago for suggesting that the Confederate statue removals were simply the first step in completely removing any and all opposition to the SJW ideology in mainstream American society. And here we are, where a t-shirt of a right-wing political news network is causing players to demand the firing of a coach who's brought their historically second-rate program more sustained success than anyone else.

Gundy wore the shirt fishing and he didn't even post the picture to any social media account. Some Lake Texoma fishing guide posted it to their facebook page, and some pillow biting "writer" from CBS Sports tweeted it.
