Personally I have no interest in living somewhere where people vote 80-20. Those are almost always going to be backwards, resentful areas. I like a bit of a mix.

Yep. A mix is good.

Most people look at flyover country and talk about how close-minded folks are because some of those counties voted for Trump by 60% margins... yet they think that San Francisco is somehow enlightened and open-minded despite the fact that the metro voted for Biden by 59.6%.... and Trump even gained a bit of margin in San Francisco in 2020. He lost in 2016 by 60.4%!

Really? Other than Abbot in Texas ....

DeSantis in Florida just told Biden to suck it.

Every Red state governor needs to stand tall and tell Biden and the gang to go to hell.

You should definitely move to Alabama. Football team #1. Education, #50.

Which party controlled the state legislature for 130+ years, losing control for the first time in 2011?

I'll give you a hint: it was the party of gender benders...

This is what I don't understand about this question. For me the politics of an area are an afterthought to my career and living situation. I grew up in an extremely red state and currently live in a deep blue one. Both of the states have had dumbass laws that I hated, but my career opportunities in my current state are greater for now.

Those places are usual in the middle of nowhere backwoods towns.

Kinda like all those small towns in Montana or Idaho that have been invaded by liberals escaping liberalism?

Why are so many fleeing blue states for red states?

Preferably that is also livable. Asking for a friend who is sick of living in a purple state.

Here's where I would start looking:

Greene County, Alabama
Lee County, Arkansas
Hendry County, Florida
Taliaferro County, Georgia
Clay County, Kentucky
East Carroll Parish, Louisiana
Issaquena County, Mississippi
Scotland County, Missouri
Greene County, North Carolina
Allendale County, South Carolina
Lake County, Tennessee
Kenedy County, Texas

Knock yourself out living in areas with low education levels, low wages, little if any health care but plenty of Trump flags.

But, on a positive note, the co-op usually has horse dewormer in stock. Even apple-flavored.

Sadly, all universities are liberal indoctrination mills.
