Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and thus, subjective.

Personally, I like diversity. There are three SEC states where you can climb a mountain before breakfast, and be swimming in the ocean by lunch...

Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

Of these three, Alabama has the prettiest beaches; sugar white quartz sand.

Every state has something, but I would say Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas are at the bottom of my list. Florida really only has one asset, IMO. Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama have a lot of junk, but their good sections are great.

Charleston is the most beautiful city in the SEC, hands down.

Well, part of it is, at least.

Not even close to the most beautiful part of Tennessee.

Hate to break it to you, but that's actually in Georgia. Rock City is south of the state line.

It depends on what you are looking for in "beauty."

For natural beauty, the mountains of Tennessee/Georgia/Alabama/South Carolina are hard to beat; as are the Alabama and Florida gulf coasts. I love the marshes of the Georgia/South Carolina low country, especially early in the morning or late in the evening.

Architecturally, nothing compares to Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, and Mobile. The gardens at Boone Hall, Magnolia, Middleton and Bellingrath are all breathtaking.

Mountains:
Tennessee
Arkansas
Kentucky
Missouri

Beaches and Old South
South Carolina
Florida
Georgia

Old South
Alabama
Missisippi
Louisiana (plus the Bayous)

I honestly love them all, just depends on what you like. I really love the Old South Louisiana as much as the mountains of Tennessee.

But sorry Aggys, Texas is not a SEC state.

Agree. The South has things to make fun of, but it is a beautiful region with loads of diversity.

Tennessee is the clear #1 for non coastal states and has a strong argument for a top 3 spot overall.

North Carolina probably takes the #1 spot if they're in the conference.

I forgot that it is 1/2 mile inside the Georgia State line...here is the view of Chattanooga from Rock City.

Arkansas isn't the top, but probably top 3-4:

Petit Jean State Park:

Little Rock:

Hot Springs:

The Ouachitas resemble the Appalachians. The Ozarks are like a bigger/taller version of the Texas Hill Country.

Far SW Texas has some amazing beauty, though.

Those pics are gorgeous.
We are blessed to have such beauty within, for most of us, a days drive.

I can't fathom how anybody could think South Carolina and Tennessee aren't the top 2, unless they haven't visited much. I enjoy living in Alabama, but it is not even beautiful. It's neutral.

Entire state overall? Probably Tennessee.

Specific part of a state? NW Arkansas
