Tennessee for the mountains, Florida for the beaches and Louisiana for the marshlands and fishing.

Will agree with you on Louisiana....and I have lived here most of my life. Overall not picturesque. Certain parts of NOLA are very nice, but geographically it is not much to look at.

Will debate you on Missouri though, especially the southern half on the Ozark Plateau....northern half is butt ugly.

Tennessee starting around Nashville is quite beautiful especially this time of year. Georgia is not bad either and Northern Alabama as well.

west TN is terrible. Agree with you that beginning in Nashville, then head east in any direction (northeast, southeast) and it really gets beautiful.

I have to vote for Alabama and Tenessee at the top.

Alabama is really diverse from smallish mountains to canyons, to lots of rivers and grassy plains, to some of the prettiest beaches in the U.S. I'm not a big fan of the state overall, but it is a very naturally diverse and beautiful state.

Smoky mountains and Appalachian trail in Tennessee along with its rivers and TVA in the eastern and north eastern part of the state is probably the single most beautiful area in the entire SEC.

Have to also admit LA and MS are pretty much butt ugly for natural beauty and are at the bottom.

Personally based off prior visits to each, Heres my list. I have to admit, I have so much home grown Floridian bias, that I'll have to leave Florida out of my rankings.

There are actually some beautiful areas in that part of the state. Just not beautiful in the way most people think of Tennessee.

IMO, anyone who doesn't know that the entire USA is beautiful, with each area beautiful in it's own way, is an ignorant prejudiced a-hole. Or I could say, they are just like many who post on TD.

I think what is important to take away from this is that the Southeast as a whole is beautiful. There is really no where else I would rather live.
