Most Beautiful:

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. South Carolina
4. Tennessee
5. Texas
6. Florida
7. Kentucky
8. Arkansas

Ugliest:

9. Mississippi
10. Missouri
11. Louisiana

Georgia and Alabama are uniquely beautiful and offer everything from Waterfalls and 100 mile long gorgeous dogwood dotted mountains to beautiful white sugar sand beaches and everything in between - except deserts. Alabama offers a wonderland of geographic landscapes - more than any other state but Texas. Texas high & low deserts are beautiful but stark and sparsely populated.

Louisiana is the shithole of the bunch. And it is a really shitty shithole. Louisiana is as flat as a pancake and as filthy as a Hobo's arse. If you like ghettos, crime, and poverty New Orleans is for you. The rest of the state is just butt-ugly with one exception: Natchitoches - a charming classic piece of small-town Americana. Even the suburbs around the cities are poor. 30% of the golf courses in New Orleans metro have closed down in the last decade. There are 9 major country clubs in metro New Orleans on the brink of bankruptcy. At least 4 will be gone by 2019. Of all the SEC states Louisiana has the worst property values - getting worse by the day. Suburban Louisiana property values have been stagnant for 8 years. Missouri is close but Louisiana wears the crown for declining property values and is neck and neck with Mississippi, Kentucky, and Arkansas as the poorest states in the SEC. Nashville alone powers Tennessee past LSU, OM & MSU, and Arky. The only thing Louisiana has to offer is seafood and swamps. Arkansas is a beautiful state full of mystique and charm and NO SWAMPS! Kentucky Blue Grass Country is magnificent. Lexington has more beauty in one acre than the entire state of Louisiana. There is nothing appealing about the geography or economy of Louisiana.

At least that's what I was told....

South Carolina has beaches and mountains as well. Charleston is the most beautiful city in the SEC, hands down.

And this is why we hate you. Any list like this that doesn’t have LA, GA, TN, NAL, and SC at the top is bullshite.

No. just no. No one thinks Texas is a beautiful state except Texans with inferiority complexes.

I’ve lived in Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina. I’ve only visited Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama. Can’t speak intelligently about the rest of them.

Georgia
Texas
Arkansas
South Carolina

Tennessee

Louisiana
Alabama/Mississippi

IMO North Arky wins. Simply love the Buffalo River wilderness.

I agree with your list but it's hard to decide between Georgia and SC. I live 15 minutes from the SC/Ga border and both states are beautiful. (Augusta..not so much, though!) I don't think Mississippi is a garbage state, though. Missouri was not very attractive...that I agree with. Didn't really find Arky to be all that beautiful but maybe I was just in the wrong section of the state.

Tennessee is hard to top.
South Carolina is great too.
Alabama is probably the most ecologically diverse state.
Georgia is solid too, with everything from mountains and beaches.
Arkansas has some beautiful spots especially up in the Ozark region

Everyone else is ok too but those stand out the most. I haven’t spent much time in rural Missouri, outside of a trip to Piedmont, but I suppose it has some nice spots too.

South Carolina and Georgia have wooded mountains and beautiful beaches which makes them hard to top IMO. I would put those top two and Tennessee probably third. I've never been to the Ozarks really in Arkansas except driving through it but it may give Tennessee a run. Same with Missouri possibly but I haven't spent much time in the rural parts of the state. I would put my native Texas somewhere in the middle.

I don't see how one could include Louisiana near the top of this list, but I don't find swamps beautiful. And I grew up on the gulf coast.

^^^this

If you haven’t been there then you don’t have a clear assessment of just how beautiful Arkansas is.
