Outside linebacker. Have to be fast enough to cover WRs and be big enough to tackle a RB or handle an OL during a blitz

This is random, but we went to the AU gym meet this past weekend when they matched up against NC State. First ever for me, but my family loved it. AU won, but all of those girls are total athletes in every respect. Suni Lee is on a complete different level.

Outside of this, I’d say CB/WR, endurance psychos including tri-athletes etc, and maybe hockey players?

The gymnasts are freaks, have to put them up there...however, such a tiny percentage of people are involved...extremely expensive

This me be a dumb opinion but I think if our best basketball or football players did tennis, gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse etc..they would dominate

Tyler Hamilton, who won an Olympic gold in cycling for the US (before he was busted for doping) said of his experience at the Olympics, "It's amazing the number of ways there are to perfect the human body..."

Basketball players - forwards, big guards - their coordination, athleticism, strength, and endurance are remarkable

This.

Hall of Famer, Top 50 All-Time NFL Player, and Top 3 All-Time TE Tony Gonzalez said if he was athletic enough to play in the NBA, he would have. Gonzalez was an extremely athletic TE in the NFL.

He played basketball at Cal and was a pretty good forward. But….watching him play in NCAA basketball games at Cal, you can clearly see that his overall athleticism pales to other top flight basketball players.

Best athlete is the power forward. Size speed stamina accuracy precision. All of it in one.

The biggest freaks are offensive and defensive lineman. Men that tall and that big should not be that quick.

Don’t sleep on boxers btw

Cornerback, maybe an Outfielder in baseball as a distant second.

Basketball has incredible athletes but raw ability is severely confined to a relatively small arse court.

Kyle Korver primarily played small forward, he was a notorious shooter. Mugsey Bogues played PG, he was a midget.

In the saddle of a Tour de France bike. 100-ish miles a day for 21 days with only 2 rest days.

Waterman. The big wave surfers, paddle boarders / kite boarders / windsurfers / etc. Not only do you have to have extreme physical capabilities to paddle into a moving mountain going the speed of a freight train, you have to survive the ride with incredible balance and body control, and then be able to hold your breath for as long as 5 (!) minutes AFTER max exertion. If that’s not enough you gotta paddle out of the surf over and under all the waves behind you. Combine that with the mental fortitude to get into that element, and I think it’s no comparison.

Other outdoor athletes have incredible mental control and balls of steel (climbers, skiers), but doesn’t require the level of athleticism a true Waterman needs.

And to be clear all of these are “sports”. Competitions, rules, scoring, etc.
