This may be more of an OT thread, but not much sports over there.

Which position in all of sports has the best overall athletes?

I'd say...
Small forward in basketball
Then Cornerbacks in football
Could possibly put elite rush D end

My thoughts are small forwards could probably play WR as well as baseball...combination of size speed is amazing

In all sports? A biathlete. Cross country skiing for 20km and being able to slow your heart rate quickly to be steady with a gun shot is pretty hard to do.

Lacrosse players

Edit: I'm gonna change my answer to hockey players. The have to do all the same things while balancing on ice skates. Plus they have to be able to fight.

Athlete..well depends on your definition. It isn’t anything in football, basketball or baseball for sure.

Fast, quick, explosive, jumping, changing directions, eye /hand coordination is how I would describe super athletic

Either point guard in basketball or small forward in basketball.

Wasn’t AI an all world football recruit? Imagine Derek rose or Westbrook or ja morant in open space on the football field.

That being said each sport has unique qualities to it, baseball has hand eye coordination, basketball has elite cardio and quickness, football is strength and toughness.

When we think of the greatest multi sport it is Deion, Bo, and probably Charlie Ward...CB, RB and QB..throw in MJ too

But also a few college small and power forwards to TE and LT in NFL

Basketball players - forwards, big guards - their coordination, athleticism, strength, and endurance are remarkable - as a long-time Bama fan, I am grateful to have never seen Barkley suit up for the barn as a football tight end.

Lotta great hitters that weren't that good of athletes. Hitting is so much about hand/eye, but leaves a lot of other common athletic skill sets virtually out of the equation. Similar to golf. For the same reason I would look at tennis differently as it requires more full athleticism.

Cornerback has always been my bet.

Having to be responsive is so difficult...only reason I put small forward ahead is because of size
