EJ Gaines is wearing a knee brace on his left leg and in a red jersey. Josey also has a red jersey on as well.

Josey has a minor hamstring injury. Gaines has a strained patella tendon and will be back in a week, says a team spokesman.

Can very little afford to lose Gaines. While I want to see Josey come back strong and do well, as was pointed out earlier, we have a stable of RB's that can play.

Watched a little bit of that hanging out/googling/chatting/webcamming/whatever with GP. Was different, but nothing but softballs thrown out there to the coach. I suppose that's to be expected.

Some fun scrimmage tweets to pass along:

quote:

Dave Matter @Dave_Matter

Official #Mizzou scrimmage passing stats:
Franklin 16 of 21, 189 yards, 2 TDs, no turnovers;
Mauk 12 of 20, 150 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs

#Mizzou QB ratings through two scrimmages: Franklin 171.7; Mauk 136.2

Sean Culkin and Eric Waters have combined for 7 catches, 128 yards and 2 TD. #MizzouTE

I doubt Missouri will make any formal announcement on starting QB until Week 1 depth chart comes out Aug 26 ... but it's clearly Franklin.

It should be noted that DGB and Darius dropped two of Franklin's passes.

Terez A. Paylor @TerezPaylor
D-line got after it despite the aerial circus. Ealy had 2 sacks, Vincent & Burnett had 1 1/2 each. Had Sam, Logan & Ray down for 1 each.

Don't like hearing this - these guys need to get focused.

Ending on the positive!

DGB would have caught his if his damn hand wasn't still stinging from blocking a punt.

But was it a good blocked punt? Did he pick it up and turn it into 6?

Can someone smarter than me explain this to me. Why does the #1 defense match up against the #2 offense and the #1 offense against the #2 defense. It seems like of course the guys on the #1 squads are going to fare well and those on the #2 squads are going to struggle. How do you make a fair comparison then between Franklin, when he's playing against guys that can't even start for a 5-7 team, when Mauk is teamed up with guys that can't start for a 5-7 team but has to face nothing but starters? I use those 2 only because they are the obvious competition going on.

Freshman defensive tackle Josh Augusta got more work with the No. 2 defense and on the third play of a series against the No. 1 offensive line, he tore through the middle and tagged Franklin for a sack.

Is it time to see if someone from the women's soccer team can do better?

What's his name. Some other kicker was 1/1 but it was just like a 23 yarder or something.

Thanks. I don't think that's who had the other opportunity though. Seems like it started with a "P".

Henson interview. He sounds like the real deal. Hope it carries over into the play on the field. The one thing I take away from this short video is Hosick needs to switch positions. Those first 2 passes belonged to him I believe. I really thing he's the kind of athlete that can contribute to this team, but if those are his passes and that's typical of him, QB is not in his future.

Only being able to look at the stats, it was good to see Josey have a good day. I'm more convinced that Mauk will not be our QB. Printz out performed him again. Final thing that caught my eye is our kicking game flat out sucks. Missed FG's and today a missed PAT!?!?! WTF?!?!?!

I think I also read someone got hurt trying to block a kick.

Yeah, it sounded like the scrimmage was pretty poor on the offensive side. They better get it together, and fast.
