He seems like an awesome kid and exceptional athlete. I hope something works out at Mizzou.

I'd love to see them try him at RB, H receiver or safety. I think they'll find a good spot for Hosick and he'll be an impact player. Hope so anyway.

I'd love to see him play safety. A position of need for us!

I think he could excel at any of those 3 positions. Safety would be awesome becasue we need them. But, think about how well TJ Moe, another HS QB, did as an H receiver. We could use another guy like that. And Hosick's scrambling/running ability was his strength at QB...I could see him being very effective as an RB, and even taking a lateral and then throwing it like we say Moe do occasionally.

I think Hosick may be able to play linebacker. Don't think he is athletic enough for a safety.

He's athletic enough, but probably too boxy for safety. Has a LB build.

Seeing a ton of tweets from Matter, Paylor, etc. that Pinkel is very impressed with Augusta. He was the first name mentioned when asked who has been impressive in camp. Augusta and Penton will likely be the only 2 true freshman to play.

The film of Augusta doing drills they showed during his rookie spotlight was really really impressive. He's huge and moves really well. He may not be Sheldon, and especially not an upperclass Sheldon that we had last year, but he's very good. Me excite.

I'm very excited about Augusta. And I think Hosick could play strong safety.

On one of the powermizzou videos Pinkel was asked about Agusta getting playing time, and he said he was the only one he knew for sure who wouldn't see a redshirt so I'm excited he looked BIG in video on Mizzou network and was clearly better than most of the other D-Lineman we have

Gabe DeArmond on Alex Grinch:

quote:

he said Cortland Browning "did not quite take the leap forward" he had hoped during camp.  Said he hopes Browning will progress throughout the season.  Also said Duron Singleton has been moved to the nickel position (currently where Ian Simon is the starter) and they are having him concentrate there because that's the fastest route to get him on the field, but that he has only been practicing there for about a week.  They hope to get him ready to get on the field ASAP, but honestly, in talking to Grinch, it sounded like Webb, White and Simon are the only safeties likely to play much of a role early in the season.
