A good example (along with Franklin is 100% last year) of why I am waiting to see and hoping Josey truly is 100%.
I can tell you I spoke with someone in the medical department who assisted on Josey's surgery and has a few classes with him and she said he seems 100% healthy. In much higher spirits too.

What's amazing to me is Mizzou has produced top NFL talent on the Dline but we fail to recruit strong on that position on a regular basis. Does not make sense to me lol

Sounds like Gill is still having a lot of pain in his foot and he said the pain was making him lose passion for the game.

Where did he say this?
Read the story on STL today, and don't think any quotes said that. In fact it sounded like the opposite.
'I'm not taking a year off. I'm going to work. Get bigger and faster. Mizzou wasn't the right fit".
Thats the core of what he said. Doesn't sound like a guy that has lost any passion.

According to STLPD's Dave Matter: "Missouri QB coach Andy Hill said Franklin has been sharp and "attacking the competition."" Only a matter of time before JF is officially named the starter for the season. I for one believe he will have a really good, if not great, year. I also think that MM will get enough playing time to get his feet wet and to prepare him to take over the reins in 2014...especially since Henson is considering using a 2nd QB for a change of pace at times.

It was in the KCStar, Gray. He said he's going to enroll at a community college, and work on it. Didn't rule out a return to Mizzou, and wishes them all the best. Just too much pain in the foot.
I would point out at that Alabama Center and current Ram Barrett Jones played with a Lisfranc fracture in his foot for a good part of last weason, including the SECCG and the BCSCG. Had surgery 2 days after they creamed Notre Dame. Just a difference in players.

I put this on camp highlight post instead of this one.
I feel for Harnett Gill. His injury took his dream away.
But with that said, Is this team able to give injured players their dream shot??? He was out the whole year like Nick Demien was. We need to gray shirt these young men NOT give them scholarships.
Good Luck Harnett !!!

And on Hills qoutes about Franklin. We will see in 27 days. Mauk said Franklin is getting about 70% of first team reps.

That's why it isn't and never was an open competition.

Are your practices open or closed to the media/public?
Posted on 8/4/13 at 11:22 pm to TheCheshireHog
For the most part, I think they're closed. They have a small portion of practice open to the media where they basically do nothing and I think I remember Dave Matter saying even that amount of time is less than it was in the spring. In years past, it was more open.

To keep our new offense a secret?

Ours are closed as well. I understand why they do it but damn if it isn't annoying as a fan. Football is going on and you have no way to get your fix. It's highly annoying.

I believe most teams in the sec are closed, not sure on that I just think I read it in an article recently. Not sure what the benefit of having a closed practice is but I know it can't hurt anything.

A few SEC schools have been known to pay off reporters for information on EVERYTHING the reporters see at practices. In previous years, Pinkel let reporters attend all of the practice under the agreement that the reporters could not report specific parts of practice but that doesn't prevent them from selling those observations privately. No reason to risk those reporters selling the information to other staffs.

Yeah, it can be frustrating as a fan, but I understand why.

“@Dave_Matter: JUCO safety Duron Singleton has joined the Missouri team and will practice Monday”
Great news.
Great news.

That is great news. I wonder what the hell was up? Any rumors out there?

I just know it was an academic issue. I think theres a chance he had to take the ACT or retake it. If he did not have a score on record or a qualifying score (several tweets saying he now qualifies) then he would not have been allowed to enroll. With how quickly this got resolved my money is on an ACT issue that he was able to fix quickly.

it's great news for us. Any word on how the RBs looked in the scrimmage?
