re: SEC getting top notch coaches....

Johnson's style might work better in college than the NBA. He kept having issues with his PGs disliking him and his system. I'll always remember him for having a 67 win team and altering his lineup in game 1 to matchup small against an 8 seed and losing.
At least someone rivals Anderson in the worst voice department.

so Grace Helbig was on Jimmy Fallon and all I could think of was this damn thread.

Not just that but I read an article that also said that the rules he was punished for violating were subsequently taken off the books, so it is ok to do whatever it was Sampson did. If true, kinda sucks for Sampson really.
Eric Gordon has talked about the drug issues on that team too.

Then-coach Kelvin Sampson tried to stop the drug use, Gordon said, but Sampson "was just so focused on basketball and winning and everything."

Pace tends to drop in the playoffs. Half of the teams in the playoffs last year increased their offensive efficiency from the regular season.

SLU is better than Mizzou and they're 2-9/10-14
As bad as Missouri's been, they're still 59 spots ahead of SLU in kenpom, pretty sad.

Brown's going to play for the Rockets summer league team.

I thought Clark deferred to Clarkson and Brown a lot last year. And it didn't help that we were running that high screen nonsense either. I think Clark may be the biggest beneficiary of the new Anderson offense, tbh. We shall see.
I totally agree with all that. I just think if Clark beats out Shamburger, I'll take it as an all around positive. The lack of multiple ball handlers has crushed this team the last couple years.

If Clark beats him out, that would be a good thing. It'd likely mean Clark learned to stop pounding the rock.
Shamburger as a secondary ball handler is a positive. Even if he's terrible, he offers at least a little bit of ball movement to a team that had absolutely none last year. Last year he was getting 0.77 assists per field goal attempt. His shooting numbers aren't great, but if he's not looking to shoot, he won't hurt them. His win shares per 40 minutes last season was actually higher than Clarkson's.

That being said Coach Anderson, Mike Alden and NLI offices have granted me permission to talk to other schools/coaches, with restrictions

I will still strongly consider going to Missouri , I just need to make sure I'm in the right situation for me.

Illegal defense did suck, but it was nixed about 15 years ago.

He elbowed Kevin Garnett in the face. What more can you ask for out of a coach?
