The Rivals 250 for the 2015 class has been posted.

Missouri:
#136 - Drew Lock
#138 - Alex Ofodile
#230 - Khalil Davis

Other notables:
#13 - Mitch Hyatt School: North Gwinnett, GA (Same school as Nate Brown and Dante Sawyer)
#31 - Terry Beckner Jr. School: East St. Louis, IL
#193 - Natereace Strong School: East St. Louis, IL
#243 - AJ Harris School: Stillwell, KS
Thanks for the link MIZ_STL.

You know whose recruiting I haven't heard about, like at all, is Braden Smiths. Anyone know what he's been up to? Is he even considering Mizzou?

I think Mauk will give a little bit of good and a little bit of bad. I went back to his high school tape and here are some things I noticed.

Pros
- Has an arm, highlights show at least 2 or 3 throws of 35 yards or more. Good zip and a tight spiral

- Athletic, dude has wheels and can break a few tackles.

- Extends plays while keeping his eyes down field allowing WRs to get open. Throws well on the run.

Cons
- Extends plays. Wait? Why did he list that twice? Well, he seems indecisive at times and runs around in the backfield regularly (See these highlights) which can lead to sacks or bad decisions (Like throwing across your body to the other side of the field)when he throws. Will occasionally will throw off back foot or off balance.

- Has a bit of gun slinger in him. Trusts his arm and throws in tight windows.

- Takes hits on scrambles with great regularity.

So to sum it up, I don't think the offense has to change the playbook much since Mauk can do everything Franklin can as well, or in some cases better. You will still see down field throws and option plays which is good. However, he will also make some bad decisions due to his inexperience. He will also make some good plays because of his athletic ability. Expect some INTs against a tough Florida defense. However if the running game keeps churning out yards like it has been, Mauk's job get a lot easier.

Nate Brown had 8 catches 122 yards 4 touchdowns tonight.

I don't believe BillSelfsToupee made that map with the intention of pissing anyone in Georgia off. He used just to illustrate the recruiting movement from Missouri down to the southern states.

If they want to get mad at word play, then let them.
To piggyback off of Mizzou23's comment here is a really blog post from Rock M Nation called Mizzou football recruiting 2014: Holding your own in SEC country.

It's a pretty good breakdown of the class is shaping up and how early enrollees will factor into the class.
Here is list of decommits from SEC schools. Knowing Mizzou, we will won't get any of these kids, but it nice to know.

Also, don't expect to see Markel Smith on there, this site seems to go out of its way to include as little Mizzou stuff as possible.

I've got a really good feeling about Brooker also. We'll see what happens, a lot can change in a month.

Have confirmed that Devin Booker will announce his college decision on October 31st. #BBN
Here is the tape of Jhnathon Williams. Get this, he plays both DE and WR (Hello athleticism).

quote:

"Williams is a high-upside kid who possesses rare physical gifts, but still is a long way from realizing all that talent," Rivals.com Midwest Analyst Josh Helmholdt said. "The first question that needs to be answered is which side of the football he plays. At first I thought he was definitely best suited for defensive end, but watching him live a couple weeks back I think tight end is certainly in play. This is a kid with great length and great athleticism, but who still needs to work to become a great football player."

He was also a little hard to find since this guy kept popping on searches.
Thank you MizzouSEC2012, for that write-up. I had actually forgotten that Bailey does play D-Line. If he did end up on the d-line it would be pretty consistent with the way the staff works.

- Matt Hoch was a TE, now a DT

- Michael Egnew was a WR, later a TE

- Lorenzo Williams was LB, later a DT.

- Aldon Smith was recruited as TE, can't seem to remember what he was converted to...
I'm also troubled by having only one d-lineman.

Here is a quick list of DEs/DTs who have Mizzou offers according to 247Sports and ESPN (Rivals is a little more difficult to look up). I'm only going to include notable uncommitted players that have Mizzou still in the running and that I've heard about, so this way we have an basic idea of who to watch out for.

Note: I will use the Rivals rankings because this board seems to like those the most.

DEs
----
Dwayne Hendrix (I'm sure this is news to everyone... )

Renell Wren 3* (borderline 4*) from St. Louis, MO

Justin Hollins 3* from Texas

Johnathon Williams NR MI (Visting Mizzou this weekend per @btaustin)

Derek Barnett 3* TN

Daniel Wise 3* TX

DTs
-----
Calvin Heurtelou 6'3 305 JUCO

DJ Williams TX 3*

Rika Levi CA 3* (CA? What?)

So thats 9 d-line targets that I could find based on the information available to me. Of course, I'm not accounting for under-the-radar-Mizzou-specialties or commits that flip from other schools.

I think we get 1 maybe 2 from this list with an outside chance for 3.

But that's where Mizzou currently stands at the moment as far as the d-line prospects are concerned.
Ask and you shall receive Reedus, here are some highlights of Ish Witter that was I able to find.

He reminds me of Marcus Murphy. He is a fast but agile athlete. (Based on the competition on the tape) He is fast enough to run by people, shifty enough to elude defenders and he also has hands out the backfield. I could see him returning kicks or punts.

Rivals compares him to Cal RB commit Vic Enwere from TX. Vic had a ton of offers, Mizzou included, so we'll see what Ish can do. Welcome to the family Ish!

Has anyone heard anything about Gatti's status? He limped off the field towards the end of the game.

Also, the Max Hall (the Ole Miss transfer) get any time? I forgot to look while I was watching the game.
The combination of Lawrence Lee and Nate Brown has me super excited for Mizzou future WR corps.
Sounds like the bettors aren't looking closely enough. From Dave Matter's chat.

quote:

Right guard Dan Feeney, right tackle Peyton Eckert and left guard Bernard Taylor all missed the Bowling Green game with injuries. Feeney is out for the season - and has been since camp. The other two might not play against Missouri. Their status is uncertain.

I don't know if those are all starters, but it's still interesting to me.

I'm really not sure what to think about this. Considering our school color are black and gold... why are we going with silver?

Then again, it could look really cool. I'll suspend my judgement until I see a picture.
I'm excited we were able to get Nate Brown.

quote:

Pete Scantlebury @PeteScantlebury

He's a 5.7 3-star, but Brown is a HUGE get for Mizzou. North Gwinnett is the No. 1 team in Georgia's largest classification.

Brown has 17 receptions for 279 yards and 7 touchdowns this season. His commitment makes the front page of Rivals.com, too.

Here is the quote for those that missed it.

Woody Wommack @RivalsWoody

Shaping up to big a big day for Mizzou here in the state of Georgia if everything I'm hearing comes to pass in the next few hours.

SEMO, I've been hearing that it might be Thomas Wilson . Also, Mizzou is having a in-house visit with Hill today.

Along with Ahmed Hill's in-home visit with Missouri, Devin Robinson has one with UConn & Josh Martin has one with Minnesota.

Edit: Mizzou23 has me covered.
