He should probably give a shite. And even if he doesn’t, maybe not be a bitch in public about it.

Indifferent?? Whatever. I hope the buyout didn't increase too much if it comes back to bite him next year.

Would you expect him to kiss the arse of a coach that left without a word?

Big loss in my view. OL was one of the few consistent positions on the team this year.

Find a comparable statement about any assistant coach leaving for another job from a current coach.

Agree. A pissed off, but smart, HC should grit his teeth and "wish him well in his new position."

No, but I do question why the assistant gave him so little respect.

Is Elarbee the a-hole? Odom? Both? Neither? Or are the egos of some assistant so big that when they get passed over for a promotion they set fire their relationships as a bon voyage bon fire?

Anyone got a bag of marshmellows? We can make some Black & Gold s'mores.

It wasn’t an assistant, but when Mark Sanchez declared for the NFL draft Pete Carroll went off in the press conference about it being a mistake.

Not good to burn bridges. It usually comes back to haunt ya! Word will get around about how Elarbee handled this. Count on it.

He was pissed.

Fans bag coaches for coach speak.

Fans bag coaches for telling the truth.

Damned if you do sort of thing

All this while not acknowledging that Elarbee was in the wrong. Probably the same group that still loves Kul.

BO still has a heavy segment that is just waiting to pounce. They don't like him and apparently just never will.

"We wish him well in his new position"...IS...coachspeak.

What he said was waterheadspeak.

Get used to this. Successful schools lose assistants every offseason. What GP did with his staff sticking together is not normal.

I mean did people really expect no one to go with Heupel?

Heupel ran the offense almost completely autonomously, why would offensive coaches have any loyalty to BO?

Tell me if i’m wrong, but we needed to replace Heupel with an OC/QB coach. Now we have the option to get an OC/OL coach and a seperate QB coach. It allows for more choices in the search.

A third option is that Finley get the OC job.
The we hire a QB coach, OL coach, LB coach and DB/special teams coordinator

I think there’s more to it than that.

I don't. Heupel found out late on Thursday that Walters was joining the rest of the staff in Lincoln. Elarbee got the call, wants to advance his career, and didn't have long to think about it before Heupel moved to his next guy. He took the job.

Why do you presume that he had a problem with Odom other than not being considered for OC?
