Sources: #Mizzou offensive line coach Glen Elarbee is following Josh Heupel to UCF. Elarbee not at Mizzou practice today. I’m told Barry Odom will address situation after practice. Believe Elarbee will be UCF OC, not 100% on the that.

Huepel has said that he plans to continue calling plays.

Not encouraging.
We should’ve been able to outbid UCF. Was he unhappy on staff here?

Troy Walters is now going to the Nubs with Frost, so he's not a candidate for OC.

If Elarbee wants to be a HC, this is a good move for him. He wasn’t being considered for OC at Mizzou.

If he's getting the OC job then it's a step up. Heupel had that luxury. Give him the OC tag but have him really just be the OL coach.
frick frick frick

What about Mike Tice for OL and OC?

And he’s not going to be the OC at UCF anymore than Cross was our DC.

But they can pay him like one and he can have the title.

That or Odom's new OC isn't someone he wants to work with.

Right. I really don't think the money would be that different, but if he has aspirations of being a HC one day then you take the promotion.
frick, this sucks.
We better just give Finley the OC job before we lose him too.

We could’ve paid him what he’s gonna make there.

That doesn’t matter if he wants to be a HC, he needs to take an OC position.

Life as a Mizzou fan. As soon as there is a glimmer of promise, the kick to the nuts is not far behind.

Yeah. I’m just asking the question.
He may already know who the OC is going to be at Mizzou and isn’t thrilled.
He may not have been all that happy here.
And he may just want to be an OC.
The result for us isn’t optimal.

This isn’t necessarily bad for Mizzou. Staffs that have success have assistants that leave for promotions elsewhere. The new OC can also bring his guy with him for the position.

It’s not optimal. Give it up.
Yeah, we may get another great Oline coach. This isn’t optimal for us.

BO could hire shite coaches that nobody wants and we wouldn't have this problem

I didn’t say it was good either. I just won’t panic that this is terrible.
The next hire could be just as good. Or better. Or worse.
