WR J'Mon Moore was visibly displeased with the way OC Josh Heupel left. "It’s kind of like a slap in the face to me. The type of person that I know Coach Heupel is, that didn’t make sense to me."
OG Kevin Pendleton on OL coach Glen Elarbee's abrupt departure: "There’s two sides to every story I guess; it would have been nice to hear his. But he’s on to his own thing, and we’re going to keep going with what we have here."
Paul Adams spoke from the heart on Elarbee departure: "It was a tough pill to swallow." Said players thought Odom was joking when he delivered the news.

The O-line was MUCH better at the end of the season than during the first 5 or so games.

From St Louis newspaper
"Glen Elarbee, I found out this morning, he made the decision to go with him. I’m a little indifferent about that one. I know this: I met with the offensive line. I met with the offense. They’re determined to go finish this the right way. We’ve got a lot of really good coaches around here that care about their kids and their word means something. That means something to me."
"There’s ways to handle things in this business and ways not," Odom said. "I was surprised (the players) learned the way they did."

Apparently, Elarbee is not the OC at UCF, but the OL coach.
That's right, he left us for the same position at UCF.
Is Odom really that much of an a-hole to his assistants or what? He already fired our DC 2 weeks into the season.

There is zero evidence that that is true.
Elarbee took a lateral job for half the money.

The O-linemen are saying that Cooper is much more of a teacher than Elarbee who just told them to get in front of their men and go hard.

I’d say that

We hear quotes like this every time a coach leaves. Not just at Mizzou. Not just when bad coaches leave.

I haven’t seen anything on PM to back your theory. Or from any of the beat writers. Sounds like it’s agend driven by fans that just don’t like BO.
Notre Dame lost as assistant to South Alabama in the same position.

Evidently he and Odom didn't get along? Or maybe he just likes Heupel that much. Who knows. It was weird how he left and what he left for is odd as well.
Seems a really stupid move on his part when considering the money, but whatever.
We'll survive.

Assistant coaches move around a lot. This board is reading way to much into these moves, because they didn’t happen with GP. That’s atypical in college football.

People move jobs a lot. If one of my employees leaves for the same title at half the pay, I want to know more. And my boss does too. “People move jobs a lot” isn’t really the answer he’s going to accept.
These aren’t the actions of electrons, randomly colliding. They’re humans who are making choices.

Yes. It's odd. There is something more to it. Could be as simple as Elarbee didn't like Odom. It happens.

Maybe he's following Heupal to learn that offense which is very desirable and may help him become an OC faster.

I don't dislike Odom, so I have no agenda.
But you have to at least question what would motivate a DL coach to so disrespect a colleague that he e-mail's the defensive playbook to every other team in the league. Getting passed over for a promotion? That happens all the time. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Now we've got Elarbee making a lateral move for half the pay and giving Odom zero respect on the way out the door.
In my work experience such disrespect would ususally occur because the boss is (or is perceived to be) and a-hole. I've worked for a couple over the years, but it never reached the point of burning a bridge or taking revenge.
Could they be the bad apples? Possibly. Could the boss have a character flaw that rubs people the wrong way? Quite possible.

Has Elarbee's job title and salary been officially announced or is this more message board assumption?
Haley could quit and have ten P5 coaches on the line within 30 minutes of the announcement and he is staying.

Kul had issues with BO getting the DC job. If you remember Kul tried to go take a job at Illinois right after BO was hired as DC, that job paid much less.
GP talked him into coming back, but he was never willing to really work for or with BO that year.
