I can't believe I am saying this, but for some reason I hope Fields doesn't succeed this year. I feel the opposite way with Eason. I think it's mostly my hatred of The Ohio State. The kid from Kentucky played high school ball in Dublin, just outside Columbus. If Fields comes out scared like he looked in some of his games with us, the boo birds will be out in force for the back up. There is a lot of pressure on Fields.

I hope Eason balls out and goes undefeated. He handled the demotion like a man and waited his turn.

Kid looks and sounds like he's ready to lead that team. Solid head on his shoulders it seems - much more mature than last year. I think he'll have a pretty good season.

All of the hate for the kid makes us all look bad. I for one wish him well.

He’s not a dumb kid and he’s uber talented. But he was never going to beat out Fromm and he was never going to be ok playing backup either. Lay blame for that obvious conflict where you want as I think it can be shared equally by a lot of people including Justin. And he’s going to take some licks this year as the starter but I think he can be a force in 2020 if he hangs in there and learns from his mistakes. Sounds like he finally grew up which is to his and OSUs benefit. Not sure he was ever going to do that here

It is how he handled it. The hate is deserved. Maybe one day he will mature and apologize for how he handled the situation... from day1 til the last day. Until then, frick him and frick anyone who attempts to lecture us on this matter.

Love all the OSU fans talking about how he left a racist and horrible situation. It was soooooo bad, that his dad let his daughter attend the University the following year and be apart of that same athletic department.....riiiiiight. He was a POS kid that’s started 17 games in his entire football career and never won a damn thing, yet felt like he was going to come in and take over.....he took too damn many of Fromms meaningful snaps. Screw JF and OSU

I’m not defending him but all the fans and sports writers that pumped him up didn’t help. Even up to and at the Auburn game people were taking that trash about letting him play. From day 1 he belonged on the bench and that was one of Jim’s many failures.

Excellent point. Most OSU fans are tools.

Nah, he may be spoiled and played the system but he's not a POS.

I wish Fields had stayed at UGA and worked hard and waited his turn. I think that, under Foley, he might have gotten more snaps and perhaps had more plays designed for him. I’m not sure his situation is going to be better at OSU.

Fields is a lot like cam.

It is going to be at least 3 if not 4 years before the college football world sees his ability.

Potential is honestly a bad and evil word. Justin is full of it. Unfortunately, he wants the results before he was ready.

This season will be difficult for him. Probably humbling. But it is a step to years 3 and 4.

I don't think you could call it a demotion when the whole turn of events hinged on a freak injury. By the time he was 100%, Fromm had total control of the team.
