I can’t wait for fields to start sucking at Ohio State so I can start a thread titled “Justin fields sucks”.

....and yes I do dislike him personally. He came to UGA and showed everyone his entitlement syndrome the second game of the year. Dude seriously thought he was gonna come to UGA and be handed the starting job on a silver platter.

Kid is NOT humble and I can’t stand anyone like that.

As much as I love DJ Shockley, I have to admit he should have transferred or just gone somewhere else and started for 3-4 years. Actual games are where QBs develop most, and I doubt he became the best player he could have been by sitting behind Green for 3 years. Guy probably screwed himself out of millions of dollars and years in the NFL.

Huh?? Sometimes I wonder what program you people are actually following...

First off, Fromm reacted incredibly well to the situation. He was amazingly patient and tolerant of the deal and handled it better than he should have ever been expected to. In fact he and his family deserve praise for how they handled it and for not making an ugly scene like other families might have done if the tables were turned.

Second off, there wasn't ever even a QB competition to begin with. Fields never had a shot at unseating Fromm. So instead, there was a coaching decision to allow Fields to get playing time that he didn't earn and didn't deserve....all in order to appease his entitlement attitude with Kirby hoping it would keep him from eventually transferring.

Which, of course, it didn't.

1. Kirby most certainly gave Fields a real chance to unseat Fromm, and the kid simply wasn't able to do it.

2. Jake handled the situation with class for sure, but his play definitely suffered while there was a "QB controversy" narrative in the media. His play improved when the coaching staff scaled back Justin's plays to a specific package and made it clear it was Jake's team.

I am grateful Georgia did not have one of those infamous "quaterback controversies." My guess is Fields knew he was so far from pushing Fromm for the starting job he had no choice but to keep his mouth shut plus the team knew what Fields knew.

Let's not kid ourselves, Fields will be the starter, but can you imagine if he can't get it done.

Ohio State fans our way worse than ours. I have been to plenty of their games and even the big money fans yell at the players.

Yep, I have been around their fans plenty of times. I think they are the most miserable fan base in college football. They are never happy. As soon as something bad happens they all want to fire the coaches, that day not at season's end.

or not does not change Georgia's pro style system (historically at least, haven't seen Coley yet).

Shotgun is in a pro style system.

I understand that and agree with that. The post I was questioning indicated (or at least insinuated) we are under center a lot. I just don't remember that at all. but, yes, we are not a spread, wide open throw the ball all over the field gimmicky offense at all. And yes, we do run a more pro style offense....just not under center very much.

I'm curious to see how he does tbh. I think he'll make some highlight reels for both teams.

Of course I should have known that it did not matter. They had already planned on starting him. They used Hoak as a Smoke Screen. He actually out performed Fields in practice. If the reports are true that is. He ought to do better against OSU’s weak schedule and weak defenses. He got what he wanted Kirby to do at UGA. To start him automatically off of his 5-Star merit.

... Hoak did not out preform Fields. Hoak went primarily with the 3rd string... Fields only went with the ones... Day confirmed this in his PC last week.
