a thread about Fields

Why create a thread on a topic that will encourage you know who to bring all of his negativity back to this board? JK- Actually been wondering why we haven't heard from him.

Justin Fields transferred to tOSU. That is a fact. That is all that needs to be said.

Is it wrong to hope Fields (if he wins the job) has to be taken out several times a game to give the other guy some experience?

This is what I expected, Field's ability is when things break down, not so much prior.

This ability made him the number 1 player in HS, but in college, the coaches prefer plan a to plan b.

Fromm deserved so much better than how the QB position was handled last year.

What should have happened was to redshirt Fields but when all the backups left we were kind of screwed. Plus his and his dads ego would’ve been a problem.

My biggest gripe against CKS and how he handled Fields was that when they put him in during garbage time they shut down the playbook. Given his lack of experience I would’ve like to see them use that time to open it up and get him ready in case Fromm went down.

Also...if you are going to trot him out there during s game....which I don’t agree with because he’s the damn backup...then at least give him a whole series. The one and done run up the gut is a wasted down.

And he still transferred anyway....

There's no way around it:

Absolutely horrible coaching decisions/& strategy in regards to the QB "dilemma" last year.

I would like to ask you, and NuwayDawg, and other articulate good-hearted level headed posters to consider participating in HGMF this year, if it happens.

There is a fight coming.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Fields couldn’t beat out Fromm who, according to experts, is the #9 QB in CFB. I think Fields is a bust. But better to find out that at OSU than UGA.

I never thought that Eason was the type of QB who would be favored by Peterson. Peterson is the type of coach that Eason needs.

I thought that they might start Colson Yankoff just for laughs.

I agree. I think Fields is a bust myself. People keep saying “you’re crazy if you don’t think he will be the starter”.

Why? He’s shown zero evidence that he’s all he was cracked up to be. What are people seeing that I’m not? The kid doesn’t look all that amazing and will most likely end up being a decent QB at best.

Lol. I just can't blame a kid for not being able to beat out a possible top 10 pick coming off an SEC championship and a NC game appearance.

He made the right decision to leave.

Fields will start but what does that tell you? He has several years left and the grad transfer from Kentucky has one year left. It appears that Fields is not "setting the woods on fire" as we used to say in South Georgia. He looked very pedestrian in spring drills. Guys, it is a BIG jump from high school QB to Div I QB.

I know and you know he did not push Fromm at all last year for the starting job.
