Saban has brought shame to the Crimson Tide. He should resign and become a politician, not I the state of Alabama.

I’m hopeful you (or anyone else who says something like this) are being sarcastic. If not, then you should just find another team to pull for. I don’t agree with this bill and I’m glad it failed, but no one should lose their job for supporting it. That’s left-wing cancel culture crap, and I’m not into that.

Cancel culture is definitely a 2 way street. I mean, just look at this thread for plenty of examples.

What’s worse imo is the mods not only allow it, though there is a politics forum for it, but have deleted suggestions to take it there. Oh well. There are plenty of Alabama football boards and most separate politics from sports.

You do realize we are only the mods for this board, right?

We can't move a thread from here to Political Talk on Tigerdroppings.

We went 3 days between posts in this thread. I think you'll be fine.

But then you have to delete, without so much as an explanation, other posts that suggest taking it to the appropriate board?

You made your request here.

Starting another thread about it was excessive.

If you want this thread to die, stop posting in it.

My suggestions were deleted not once but twice , though this political thread, on a sports board, was allowed to continue unabated.

You want the thread to die? You could easily delete it same as you deleted suggestions to take it to the appropriate board. I am pretty sure you can lock the thread but you don’t. After you deleted my 2nd suggestion i just didn’t log on anymore till just before my response to jatebe. I don’t raise hell on this board, i don’t trash the team, i don’t post flame topics, i don’t do any of the things I know are not allowed. But you’re the moderator. Have at it.

Could the thread be anchored?

This is the thread that doesn't end.
Yes, it goes on and on, my friend(s).
Some people started posting it not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue posting it forever just because...

Which means you can anchor it, right?

If you don't want to and want to explain why, fine. Do that.

Posturing as if you're impotent and helpless to do anything about it is pretty fricking lame.

How is a thread discussing the actions of the head football coach at the University of Alabama deemed a political topic, and not a topic worthy of a post on this board. If this were a thread discussing a political topic that had absolutely nothing to do with Alabama football I could see how it could be labeled a political topic, but the initial post was solely related to the topic of Nick Saban and his actions.

It really shouldn’t be that hard to figure out how this is a topic that is worthy of a post on this board, especially during the off season when almost nothing happens that is worthy of posting related to Alabama football.
