Does that make LSU fans a little nervous about this search? Will their AD offer another Ed Orgeron to be their coach

Sounds like you are a little nervous.

We have a different AD now.

This shows how little you actually know about OU or the fan base. OU expects a national title run every year, especially in the Big 12. To say there are no expectations at Oklahoma is naïve at best and down right retarded at worst. Has Oklahoma met that expectation? Absolutely not, but don't come on here saying OU has no expectations when you have no clue what you're talking about and you just want to troll.

The truth. About half of OU fans want Riley to go. I would like to remind them that the 90's were brutal with 4 coaches in the 90's. Everyone of them were fired except #4 which was Stoops. Riley needs to hire a top notch DC like Golden. jk

"Coach O has set a new standard at LSU," LSU AD Scott Woodward said in a statement. "He has proven that he is not only a championship coach, but also a leader of a program committed to doing things the right way. He has represented our institution and our state with great pride, on and off the field of play. He is well-deserving of this new contract, which should make clear our commitment to Coach O and the direction of our football program."

Woodard is a smart guy. He would not publicly offer a coach unless he is sure they are going to take it.

Just keep an eye out for which coaches get raises by the current employers and you will probably know who LSU was interested in.

My gut feeling is the Woodard already had his new coach before he ever let O go. It will be announced after the regular season. That's the right way to do it.

The media are the one's who keep coming up with all this BS. It gets them clicks and keeps the uneducated among us talking about it.

It is strange how the James Franklin (another Jimmy Sexton client) talk got all hot then suddenly went silent.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if a Franklin-LSU deal is already in place and Mel Tucker, Riley, and Aranda are using the still officially unfilled LSU position to negotiate better deals with their current or future employer.

I was just relating it to the baseball coach as multiple "insiders" and media outlets were all over the place.

Ah! Thank you! You know? This is two straight decent conversations we've had.

OU is a better job than LSU

It’s a better job now while OU is in the Big 12, but after OU moves to the SEC, it most definitely isn’t.

OU won’t be winning 11/12 games a year in the SEC. OU is a 8/9 win a year team in the SEC with little to no chance to win the SEC and no chance to win a National Championship.

LSU has proven that it can win multiple SEC & National titles with mediocre coaches. You put a great coach at LSU, and it can do great things.

Which makes LSU's 2 NCs in 15 years post-Saban pretty impressive, especially given the two coaches who did it.

My dad was a college football coach and you guys are idiots.

So is Oklahoma going to rule the SEC or not????

You same idiots say they are going to get murdered with defense optional shite and yet much better job than LSU? what are you like 12? LSU is better joining with Oklahoma joining SEC, and it’s not close.

For the record, i don’t know if OU matches LSU offer of 12.5 a year or not, but his agent reached out to LSU first, to let Woodward know he was available back in October, think about that Sooners, maybe he just wants a big pay day big either way he is playing you guys too.

Again his agent reached out to LSU first in October, about the same time your alumni started telling Riley who should play QB, etc.
interesting huh? He probably called Saban or some old timer who told him you can’t put up with this shite son. If he leaves or you double his salary you can think your current back up QB, his dad and some of your alums. If he stays you should make them pay the extra 7.5 million a year.

You guys did this not us

Why? Florida did the same thing and in a shorter timeline.
