Gus in the big 12, playing against mormons. That's a strange thought
You all think the big 12 stays power 5?

BYU is problematic. They don't play on Sunday.

Unpopular thought, the Big 12 might actually be a better conference with those additions. The recruiting boost teams like UCF, Cincinnati, and BYU will get will be respectable. Are they a national championship contending conference...no, but in 10 years maybe

Good thing most games are on Saturday

Ive been saying this for a bit now. But New Big12=Big East from BCS era, they will step down

The Big 12 is going to survive. And not only that. But probably be better going forward with these 4 programs.

Arkansas plays Cincy and BYU next year.

I can’t find my reading glasses. Can one of you tell me where it says we’re going to the AAC

How would this be a problem?

Unofficial Big 12 title for Arky in the works?

How exactly is that determined? By vote?
I also wonder about the revenue for that conference. They lose the two biggest revenue draws and add a total of two more teams (after tex and OU leave). Are they going to do equal revenue sharing?
I am curious to see how it develops. They have some decent teams in that conference, but just not sure how they hold up over time.

Football takes a step back, but UH and Cincy are good for the Big XII basketball profile. Swapping Memphis for UCF would have boosted it even more.

I agree, but the problem is that in 10 years, that conference (or conferences as we now know them) probably won't exist.

What a nightmare for travel in that conference. They going to have kids flying from Orlando to Provo mid-week to play a volleyball game?

Houston, Cincinnati, and BYU are Power 5 quality programs today, and UCF seems committed to getting there ASAP. Yes, the Big 12 will stay Power 5 with these additions, and will be better than the Pac, and maybe the ACC, from day one.
Also will be interesting to see Ohio State have to deal with another Power 5 program in Ohio going forward.

I wonder if this is almost the start of a tiered “ladder system” in regards to CFB conferences

UH getting into a "major" conference was the biggest fear Texass has had since the demise of the SWC. They persistenly blocked the addition of UH to anything.
UH is going to be a problem for Texass in the Houston area recruiting circles. UH kicked the shite out of Texass plenty when they had equal footing.

There are other conference sports that play on Sunday.
Someone was actually telling me a few weeks ago about a club team from BYU (in a different sport) that had to forfeit every time they did well, because the championships were always on a Sunday.

Think of the number of excused absences you'd get as a student though. With the new trend of attendance points in college, it's a huge recruiting point imo
