Let's also not pretend that Elko and his defense don't have an impact on that recruiting.

I'm all for making fun of how much money aggy is blowing on Jimbo, but Elko has earned it. It's hard to field an effective defense in today's football.

hen Fisher is fired

This is pretty much what you other fellers have to hope for. Jimbo is consistently recruiting at levels never consistently seen in the history of our program, and he put a very good team on the field last year. It has the FEEL of a program on incredibly solid footing.

The admin powers made a decision to (again) go all-in on Fisher. The odds that he leaves A&M without being fired and without retiring is, now, exceedingly slim. If he really is building what we think he's building, he's gonna be a major problem for everyone in the SEC for the next decade at least. Your only real hope is that he fails to produce and A&M gets put in a financial bind. We'll see what happens.

I'll just say that, for my part, I'm confident and happy that A&M is showing him this level of commitment.

Y’all would have been better served by making Elko HC and throwing 2-3 mill at a modern OC. The only thing holding you back is Jimbo’s late 90’s early 2000’s offensive approach. You guys hitched yourself to the 2021 version of Les Miles.

So you’re saying the only way we improve is because of covid, and the only way LSU sucked was also because of covid? Please explain…

So, we'll find out in the next couple of years if a team can truly just buy a National Championship. Surely the multi-million dollar NIL agreements for recruits are the next prong of this "attack".

It simply means he won't leave for anything less than a good P5 job, as it should be. All of the other assistants are getting raises as well, Fisher is, and we are investing a ton into new facilities

What good is the money if you don't spend it?

Elko and his staff had nothing to do with that? Even with subpar talent at wake forest, elko has shown he’s at the top with Xs and Os and now that he is at a school that can recruit better jimmy and jos, his defenses are at the top in the country. Jimbo is definitely the best recruiter on the staff, no argument there, but elko has shown he is an elite recruiter as well.

You think so? I beg to differ, but we will find out soon enough. Many A&M fans like me believe it was Mond and his limitations, not Fisher

LSU didn’t rush for much, but Max put up much better numbers in limited action against Elko than Mond did against Bo Pelini. Max had better than 50% comp per with a TD and over 100 yds in a quarter or so of play. Mond had around 33 % comp per.

To my point , when Les had elite and experienced O lines, LSU did not struggle offensively. If anything they masked the schematic problem. B Harris throws for less than 50%, no big deal bc we rushed for almost 300 yds. When Les did not have the experience at O line or quite as much talent, the schematic weakness magnified. Jimbo’s offense will struggle this year without the o line experience. Frankly, y’all had the best O line run blocking in the NCAA last year. I don’t see 4 new guys performing to that level in this league. New QB. New O line. New receivers (for the most part). Same Jimbo schematic and plays from when he coached here.
