I know this is a troll thread, but in terms of serious responses this is the only possible answer for this century.
Laugh all you want but the coaching job Chizik did in 2010 was masterful. Few coaches could have kept that team on track and undefeated with the surroundings
He honestly only had one bad season. 2012.
2009 he was taking over a program that was broken. They changed everything and still had a decent season.
2011 the program lost 40 players from the previous year. Including almost every single player of need. Still had a decent season. Not a disaster and a fun bowl win
Its not like his 4 years were awful. Its that his 1 year was catastrophic

Who would have thought that Chizik would make an amazing commentator?

Howard Schnellenberger - wasn’t a very good coach and was a complete a-hole. He caught magic in a bottle one time during a very meh career. He nearly destroyed OU during his one year there.

True that!
He gets credit for putting Miami on the map but no way in hell did Miami deserve that 83 title. Nebraska opted not to go for the tie. Since NU failed on their own decision, Auburn should have been crowned national champions.

As much as I hate miles that 2011 team was 100% his and was able to go undefeated en route to a national championship appearance with a regular season win over the team that best them in the natty. Yea we got stomped in the national championship game, but give Saban a second chance and he sure as shite gonna beat you the second time. He's just too good of a coach to not be able to figure out your team with enough time to study it. That 2011 lsu team was good enough to beat probably 80-90% of the last 20 national championship teams the majority of the time. Even though his offense was trash he was doing something right lol.

1) Larry Coker - Destroyed what he inherited
2) Chizik
3) Orgeron

People forget that the Miami alumni demanded that he clean up the program to get away from the thug image the football team had. If the Miami coaches before him had been under the same restrictions, Miami would never have been a power in the first place.

Of the last 30 years?
Ed Orgeron
Gene Chizik
Larry Coker
Les Miles is on the cusp but he sustained above average performance for the entirety of his tenure at LSU. He had some down years (2008 and 2014), but LSU was a consistent 9-10 win team while he was there.

In my opinion it has to be les miles.
And just think, Kirby hasn't even won a championship

No love for Foolmer?
Won the '98 NC and then proceeded to destroy the entire football program in various ways over the next decade. That has to count for something.

you cant say Orgeron yet since hes still there. If hes fired next season no doubt O is the worst coach to win a championship. My bad for forgetting chizik he was awful but people forget how bad les is. He recruited good but most people recruit well at lsu. He could not even manage the game clock. His 11 team won on just pure talent. When another team matched his talent like the 11 Alabama team he got embarrased and had the worst game plan even

When did you people start to think you could redefine what a top 10 win is? I’ve seen people try this before and there is zero logic behind it. That kind of reasoning would suggest that losing to one of these opponents would be better than knocking them down in the rankings by beating them. And what is a team supposed to do, reschedule during the season so they could beat the teams who replaced the top 10 teams they already beat? Do you realize how insane the position you’re taking is?
Miami finished 7-6. Texas finished 8-5.

And neither of those won college football nattys. You’re not making any sense bruv.
Thread is about bad coaches that won a national title. I'm simply saying just because Bobby Ross made it to a super bowl (where he got destroyed) doesn't automatically qualify him as a good coach. Other examples being Whisenhunt and Callahan.
