SEC has been in serious contact with Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, and Florida State.
Not clear if this will materialize, but they have their eyes on a true 20 team MEGA conference.
OU and Texas just the start.

You can doubt all you want.
This comes from multiple sources, including one that gave me OU & Texas to SEC on Monday.
#ScoopCity hasn’t had a miss since 2019.
Anyways

No way that Mich and OSU is in talks with the SEC to join. It makes no sense. I can buy Clemson and FSU. No way this can be true.

Yeah, doubt that will happen.

At this point we might as well bring in Southern Cal

If this is true, the school that is going to get burned most by this is Oregon. A month ago, it thought it was about to get all the players with Nike NIL money. If there is a true college super conference of the SEC plus the best of the rest, there is 0 chance that Oregon gets in.

I don’t even care if FSU and Clemson join but if Michigan and Ohio state do I’m done. That’s just retarded.

Would rather Al Qaeda join the SEC.

I don't believe that at all. At some point there has to be a long term strategy. If you add the best 2 teams from every conference, then at some point it is better to just get rid of conferences and have the top 30 or so schools in the nation form their own league with a massive tv contract.
And if the SEC is going to become that league, then why do schools like Vandy or Miss St get to automatically be in the super-league just because they joined 100 years ago?

Just 3 days ago, I would have said the exact same thing about Texas and Oklahoma.

This is, ultimately, a way of cutting out the NCAA.
Just build your own league and concentrate the revenue. NIL is just going to further the concentration of football talent into the top programs. It's always been dumb to pretend that teams like Cal or Rutgers could win a national title.
The goal is not really to create a new conference. It's to create a new league -- one with much more revenue than the old ones, as you get more high-quality matchups and massively higher TV deals.
