I think TX-OU has no intention of joining our league

They are just using us as a bargaining tool to get more $ and better TV slots in the future. Just my opinion.

Logical people agree with you

The other three conferences are melting ou/tx phones right now.
Who knows what will happen. But there is no ink drying on any contracts as far as we know.

Fox has already signaled that it will not be renewing the B12 contract in 2025. The product is weak. They don't have much leverage.

I originally thought that this might be the play..
but I am 100% convinced that Texas & OU want the SEC.
There is smoke everywhere, even with Aggies..

Very smart negotiating tactic for sure. But in all seriousness the SEC will be able to throw an insane number at Texas and OU that the Big 12 will not come close to matching. Even if they go into it with no intentions of leaving the Big 12 it is going to be really hard for those 2 ADs to turn down the revenue they would get from TV money and increased ticket sales.

Big XII is on life support and there's already rumors that Texas and OU have told the Big XII they're done

Eh, i could see that but I could see it being legit as well

If that were the case, the leaks would have come from them, and much earlier in the process. If you're just wanting to gain leverage, you talk about leaving as much as possible while in actuality not really doing anything about it. The fact that we haven't heard a peep about this, at all, until the ink is almost dry on their applications is pretty telling. Remember when Mizzou and A&M joined? There was a lot of smoke all over the place long before it actually happened. This time around things have been kept extremely quiet, which tells me that gaining leverage through public posturing is not the point.

The question is would this be a ploy to get a better tv deal or to see if the B10 or ACC offers something else…
Say the B10 tells those 2 that they won’t require a slow roll to full payouts and instant vesting into ownership of the B10N, is that a better long term deal?
The only reason I mention this is how the wording on some of the rumors are stated. Lots of telling the B12 they aren’t planning on renewing their GOR, and only a few saying they will be applying to the SEC

Nah there is no one to negotiate with. The SEC is the only conference close to them physically that is worth a shite.

Texas only cares about one thing.

no doubt they want to be apart of the SEC. The way Texas handles their business is just so off putting. From getting the big 12 to give out penalties for the horns down or just purely ruining conference after conference for their own greed. With that being said I would love to see A&M and Texas play every year in conference or out.

This is not true, Fox said they weren’t willing to negotiate the new contract with 4 1/2 years remaining on the existing one. Fox told them to cool their heels and wait a year or two.

If you're right, that means we're all gonna miss out on all the future meaningless debates about which school started the Power T.

Agree. They asked to renegotiate the Big 12s TV contracts recently, and Fox and ESPN said no. All of sudden UT and OU are threatening to leave the Big 12.
95% chance this is a tactic to get the networks to renegotiate the Big 12 TV deals.

What could be more Texas than flirting with the SEC, being too arrogant to come to terms, and instead joining the PAC 12 and wrecking that conference like it did the BIG 12?
