If we go to only 16 would one of these bump horn or OU? Which one?

Or could 18 make just as much long term sense as 16, maybe even better money long term according to most LSU posters on the rant

Old Sarge, Barrett Sallee and Dennis Dodd reported that UGA, UK and Florida along with SCAR all have agreements to not support to add teams from their respective states. Texas is the 2nd largest state in the country having "8 Million" more than Florida.

Love them or hate them, Texas and OU have top 10 brands.

FSU and Miami in the ACC will survive as if the super conference thing starts, Notre Dame is "contractually" obliged to join the ACC. They are already in the ACC for every sport save football.

Notre Dame going to the ACC will give them 15 teams, West Virginia if the Big 12 folds is a natural to move over to the ACC and they are at 16 teams.

The Big 10 has 14 teams currently, I always heear about the AAU universities, which are 64 schools, 2 of them in Canada and consists of schools like Dartmouth, PENN, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Washington U at ST. Louis.

Other than Nebraska, all other 13 teams in the BIG10 are in the AAU. KU and Iowa State are both in the AAU and could easily be a fit and get them to 16.

So 5 of the former Big 12 are now in the SEC (OU, TX), ACC (WVU) and BIG10 (KU, Iowa State).

SO what does the PAC12 do. 3 of their members are not AAU already, Oregon State, Washington State and Arizona State. So do they allow schools like Texas Tech, Kansas State, Ok. State to join the PAC12. While they are not AAU schools, they are among the 131 Carnegie Research 1 Universities. maybe they add UNLV, etc

All 14 SEC Schools are also Carnegie 1 Research Schools.

So the PAC12, after the Big 12 looks in a very precarious position unless they are willing to think out the box.

Under this Scenario, 4 Super Leagues, conference champs are all in the 12 team playoff, and then at large spots for the other 8 based on Strength of Schedule. Under that scenario, I could see the SEC getting 4 teams in no problem maybe more than that.

That ain't gonna happen:
*3.1.4 Termination of Membership. Membership may be terminated at a regular meeting, either by resignation or by
action of the Conference through a vote of two-thirds of the members. If termination is voted by the Conference, the
Conference shall determine the effective date of the termination.

FSU has signed over all rights to ACC through 2035 so this is not an option.... In other words, sure they could come but their conference split, tv rights, t-shirt sales, etc would go to the acc for the next 15 years..... So I'm not real sure this actually happened.

Clemson adds nothing to TV viewership. The SEC needs new TV markets.

Too many Tigers rule. Already have 3, don't need another.

Kick out A&M and Missouri, take in Miami, FSU, OU, and UT, and now we have something to work with.

I'd take Oklahoma and FSU if those 4 teams are my options.

Someone recent SEC member thinks the SEC isn't going to protect the guard.
