Sometimes a single swing of the bat is the difference between a win and a loss. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way.
Sure you don't expect something like this in year 19, but everyone needs to remember being the #1 overall seed is a curse, and we must remember to put the blame solely where it belongs and that is the players.
Where were the bats? How many pitchers in the bullpen have been freeloading off their partial scholarships instead of earning them? Too damn many.
You can only come up with the excellent game plans, shifts, batting lineups and making all the pitching changes at the right time, you can't also hit the bal and throw the pitches for them, that's baseball.
We must remain diligent and need to reevaluate the salary of DVH, we can't afford to lose him with LSU open this year.

I can't see LSU going after a coach with no national titles when they just "retired" a guy who hasn't won one in 11 years and had the same end result as Arkansas.

Having Franklin and Goodheart go cold killed us. They have also got to get some solid pitchers in there. I hate it for Kopps because I’ve been there. You throw the entire game, keep it close and still lose. I hope this will light a fire under the freshman’s @$$es. I don’t think we would have won the CWS. Our pitching isn’t there but they could have won this series. It was terrible luck in having some of our best hitters get in a funk. Honestly I would have left Franklin out, but hey it’s hindsight now. Great season just really sucks for those seniors who poured out everything they had.

Nah, some people have been saying he needs to be out of the lineup for days. That's another frick up by DVH. You can't have your 4 hitter look like he's playing a different sport than everyone else and expect to win.

He's had teams that could hit, he's had teams that could pitch, maybe year 20 will be the year he has a team that can do both at the same time.

I thought we were a little off after the tournament—solid on pitching but we became inconsistent with the bat. I’m not sure any adjustments could have been made and if our bats were that cold during the regular season we wouldn’t have made it to the post-season.
