On defense maybe but there were obvious deficiencies on offense that can’t be blamed on shite coaching.

Look at the 2006 Arkansas roster. It was loaded... 13 Future NFL players, including a 1st round DL, 1st Rd corner, 2 1st Rd RBs (McFadden and Jones), as well as Peyton Hillis and multiple pro-level OL.
Their weakness? Casey Dick at QB and Houston Nutt.
They had Florida, the national champs beat in the SEC-CG,..... Until Reggie Fish happened.
When they lost to USC early in the year, DMac had no big toe.
Not in the level of some modern teams or the likes of early 00s Miami, but still talented enough to play with and basically beat the eventual nat champs.

For what it's worth, Georgia took one away from my Horns in '83, which had something like all 2-deep on defense drafted or something absurd.

I would say 2019 Bama but they weren’t really that good. Same exact team as 2020 minus Jeudy. Just didn’t play anybody worth a damn all season.
