Seriously, that ride is over. He has to get comfortable with this.

Hire Muschamp when he’s fired from SC in two months

I’m not convinced anyone on our defensive staff realizes that it’s legal to complete passes to the RB.

Anybody not named Pete Golding. I’d take Pete the Dragon at this point.

assistant coaches come and go so no way do you let them come in and completely change things. This would mean your HC would constantly be learning new schemes and new terminology most years. It has worked good for years. No reason to change up. Many players missed tackles and many players missed assignments. U also have to understand that in the secondary we are young. OUr outside Lb 31 made a lot of mistakes. He missed a ton of tackles including sacks.

If it constantly fails you need to change it. It has been 2 1/2 years of being young and inexperienced.

Joe Kines for DC. The inside trap will be stopped!

Honestly how many good defensive coordinators even exist anymore? They're a dying fricking breed.

Had a conversation with someone last night about something along these lines. It seems to me that defense in general is no longer a priority in the modern game of football, going all the way down to the high school level. The focus is on offense, points, and more frequently the best athletes are now playing offense when it used to be the other way around. Kids that used to be lock-down corners or safeties are now playing WR, head hunting LB’s are playing RB, etc. It isn’t sexy to be a defensive football player anymore. Thus you end up with a depleted recruiting base that, although they have 5 stars by their names, are not the same caliber of player from 5-10 years ago. Then throw in the changes to the rule books that favor offenses and create an environment conducive to soft play and you get the product we see on the field today.
Defense is not THE priority in football anymore. It’s easy to see that the highest profile coaches and players are found coaching and playing on Offense.

Then he'd better hire a real DC instead of fricking projects like the last two.

Jim Leonhard
He's home, and he's very happy. He's already turned down Bama before too.
I hate that too, because I've been a huge fan of Jimmy since he was still playing. He is gonna be a hell of a NFL DC or college HC really soon.
Bama had a shot at bringing Ansley back in, but they balked and kept Golding. Not sure they'll get that shot again...

Don't forget Greg Mattison at Ohio State, Jim Leonhard at Wisconsin, or Andy Avalos at Oregon. None of those guys saw their teams give up more than 35 points in a game last year. Bama has given up at least 45 points in a game three times in the last eight contests.
