A lot of us have overlooked something about Stetson that we seem to take for granted about the other guys on the roster. We assume Daniels would make a better showing than his USC year and Mathis would grow by leaps and bounds over the season, buy why wouldn't we assume Bennett would continue to improve as well? He's had one whole start - ONE.

In that first start in the SEC he's shown poise, mobility, and playmaking ability in big and small moments. He's played as well or better than any QB in the SEC save Trask, and he's a legit 4.5 guy who hasn't really unleashed that aspect of his game. Then there's his attitude. Kid plays with the Baker chip on his shoulder without the arrogance, and he shows up. No fear. No bluster. No drama. Just a player you know you can count on.

I'm riding with Stetson not because he's just good enough to get us there, but because he's already good enough to get us there and he could improve and be an amazing player in his own right.

It's like we compare where Stetson is now to where we hope the other guys will be eventually.

That's completely unfair, and a recipe for being unhappy with anyone.

Stetson is an anomaly. He is our choice because our defense is out of this world and we have a lot of talent on o, we just have to get playmakers the ball.

Stetson, who spent his time here running from our number 1 defense, has all the tools to manage the heck out of a game and add to it by being escapable.

He makes good decisions and is calm. I am guessing JT may force the ball too much though it could still be the knee. Mathis is just not ready yet.

Thank heavens for Stet'... Great story not so different playing style from Manziel or Mayfield. So he is the MailMan. Wish him the best.

I worry about him in the cold or bad weather. Can he grip the ball enough to throw a forward pass. If the answer is YES... then ride with the mailman imo.

I absolutely loved his on field interview after the Auburn game. Just level, no moment too big, understated swagger. Very excited he is leading our team.

Now that other teams are getting to see film on Bennett, things may get more challenging. He might be the best 5'10' QB around but there were probably reasons he was never seriously considered franchise quarterback material.

If he can put the ball into tiny boxes 50 yards downfield against Alabama, then I will be sold that he is the college quarterback discovery of the decade.

Until then, he is a reliable game manager who needs our defense to remain dominant and our offensive playmakers to do some special things if we are going to beat playoff caliber teams.

If other teams are focusing on Bennett in their film review, they are focusing on the wrong thing.

I've liked Bennett ever since he outplayed Fromm in the 2018 G-Day game. Fromm never had quickness and mobility like Stetson has.

It’s sad that he said he’s not the QB Georgia fans want. I love him back there kicking arse.

I read somewhere where his HS coach said his hand size was that of someone who was 6-4. I'm hoping there's truth to that and not an overly exaggerated statement.

Bennett is cool and calm on the field and he has enough speed to avoid sacks most of the time. He makes good decisions and seems to have the confidence of the team in the huddle. He also had the benefit of two years in the QB room with Jake Fromm, and a year as a starter at a Juco. he is a solid game manager in the mold of Fromm. But, he also has accuracy problems sometimes and likely is as good now as he ever will be.
All that means he is a capable QB for the interim, until Mathis or Daniels is ready to take control. We will know after the next two games just how good he is. I hope he is very good.

Didn’t he start 12 JUCO games? That isn’t nothing. Plus the scout team prep is a lot of experience. The ability to read the defense and understand our playbook trumps spectacular arm or height.

Bennett has looked great and I'm not taking anything away from him. Told a buddy he looks like a poor man's Aaron Murray.

The player that has really got my attention though is Jackson. He looks amazing. Uncoverable matchup nightmare for teams. Which frees up other stuff, especially with Pickens. Teams are going to have to pick their poison. That just wasn't the case last year.

His head coach at JUCO was on Monken's staff at Southern Miss.

Until the guy who's 6-3 and has a stronger arm attains the same level of understanding of the playbook and ability to read defenses.

Everything I've read, including Smart's comments, suggest that JT Daniels is a cerebral QB and devoted student student of the game. That combined with the physical traits make me think his time may come. Smart is likely going to want to get him some game time when there's full confidence in his knee.

Did anyone see his postgame interview and the way he blinked with almost every word? Looked like a form of Tourette’s syndrome.
