If Auburn can get past Georgia, their schedule sets up nicely

They would probably be favored to win every game up to Bama.
Oct. 10: vs. Arkansas
Oct. 17: at South Carolina
Oct. 24: at Ole Miss
Oct. 31: vs. LSU
Nov. 14: at Mississippi State
Nov. 21: vs. Tennessee
Nov. 28: at Alabama Crimson Tide
Dec. 5: vs. Texas A&M Aggies
And I can see them getting in the playoff even if they lose to Bama at 9-1.

Doubt that, it would be super unlikely to get two teams from the same division in (assuming bama got in in this scenario).
But yeah, I agree overall. Just need to get the monkey off out back at Athens.

Well let's see. I would take Auburn over a one loss OU team, so that throws one of the probably 10 other contenders out already. Hard to find a better loss that Bama.

Not if Bama goes 10-0.
Only scenario I could see in that case would be lose to Bama in a really tight game. Then Bama gets blown out in ATL by the east rep. Also would need chaos in the other P5 conferences with Clemson and OSU needing to have at least one loss too.

I'm dumb.

Agree. A one loss Auburn team would be an attractive pick for the playoffs, especially if it's a close loss to Alabama. They'd certainly be in the conversation.

Auburn can never pencil in a "W" for the LSU game. That game is hotly contested virtually every year, throw the records out.
I thought that was the gag.

It is more likely to take 2 teams from the same division than 2 teams from opposite divisions.
Have you not been paying attention the past 10 years?
Loser of the SECCG is out.

I am not penciling anything in. Just saying the schedule is favorable especially if they can manage to get by their toughest part which is vs the East 3 out of their first 4 games. All they will have left is shitty teams from the West.

I'm of the opinion no ones schedule sets up nicely this year. 10 game SEC schedule is going to be brutal.

The CFP hasn't been around ten years. But since its inception the committee has not put two teams from the same division into the playoffs. Of course, there is always a first time.

Specifically with Oklahoma losing, the SEC looks good to get two teams in.

2011 - not the playoffs
2017 - Georgia's not in the same division as Alabama
I'd say "good try", but it really wasn't.

I was thinking this as well looking at our schedule the other day. Home game with LSU and then 2 weeks to rest and prepare for the air raid. This gives us a nice chance to get the train moving before going to Tuscaloosa. After Bama we have a nice cupcake came to rest up prior to the seccg

The point is that Bama gets the Notre Dame bump. Two teams from the West can get in. Right now, 2 teams from the east cant.
