The issue of two G5 teams being in the playoffs isn't the committee's fault. The conferences told the committee to rank the teams AND for the five highest conference champions to get invited. Why do people not understand this? With the rules as they are there will always be at least one G5 team in the playoffs. This year there are two G5 teams because the ACC champion, Duke, is terrible and not highly ranked.

To get rid of the G5 teams we have to change the rules and instead simply invite the 12 highest ranked teams.
Miami can do next to nothing on offense. A&M is better on offense, but can't score. A&M defense looks better than Miami's defense so far.
Congratulations to Alabama and good game Oklahoma. At least this was a game worth watching.
Texas will likely have a very good team next season, but UGA is expected to have a much better team. It could happen, yes, but Georgia will be the favorite.

South Carolina and Florida fans call him agent Muschamp.
Spurrier was a great coach for sure. If they had playoffs back in the 90's he might have won another national championship. He didn't like to recruit players, so that's a small minus.

With Kiffin and no coaching issue I could see Ole Miss higher than 7th. Now I wonder if they'll end up lower, barely making the playoffs, in the final poll next week, particularly if players transfer out.
Few UGA fans assume that the Dawgs will win. If anything, they assume that we'll lose at this point against Alabama, or at best the odds are against us.
UGA's starting center got injured vs GT and won't play in the SECCG. This injury will matter too, making it harder to run the offense.

Georgia just needs for Texas A&M to lose to Texas and they play in the SECCG. Probably won't happen, yes, but who knows?

If A&M loses a conference game they have to hope that they aren't tied with one other team at 7-1, since they lose the tie breaker.
There was a very long time when Auburn would almost always win in Athens and UGA would win some of the games in Jordan Hare. This happened even when the home team was thought to be better. It was maddening.
Fair enough. More football left to be played to prove it.

Wish they would have fixed the Bama/UGA bullshite and gotten them so they alternated years. Have us play them away in ‘26 and ‘27 to get it back aligned from when the first expansion fricked it up and they played away twice.

Wasn't that changed back in 2012/2013 at Auburn's request?

For UGA either at Auburn or vs Florida.
Nobody was saying this last year when UGA was on the road for Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss. This year is the other side of that same coin.
Another worrisome scenario is a year when three teams tie with 6-2 conference records. Now the loser of the SECCG ends up with 3 losses, and I am not at all sure that the committee puts this 3 loss team into the playoffs. Meanwhile the 3rd place team gets to sit at home and then get a playoff invitations.
In the event of a tie between teams competing for a place in the Conference championship game, the following procedures will be used in descending order until the tie is broken:

Head-to-head competition among the tied teams

Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams

Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams

Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams

Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams

Random draw of the tied teams
Georgia has clinched the women's title, and still have the 4x400 relay to play in.
Georgia won the doubles point against A&M.
