"I'm excited about the fact that we have a bunch of guys that are committed to playing," Saban said. "I know there's a lot of things going on in the world right now that can affect that as we see on a daily basis in terms of choices and decisions that players make. I think it's important that once you make a commitment to doing something that it creates more value for you if you do it the right way and you focus on what you need to do be the best player that you can be and control the things that you can control. I think that everybody on our team can create value for themselves by playing."

Calling it now, Bama is going to be undefeated this year. Bring the downvotes if you want, but you have to admit that it is pretty remarkable that Saban has been able to get his key Juniors and Seniors to stay and come back to play. Not happy at all with the number of key players who left early and/or are opting out. And before you say “other teams have had opt outs too” I don’t think any other team has had the number of CRITICAL talent opt outs as LSU. Still hoping for the best and support my Tigers 100% but Coach O has some work to do ...he’s great at RECRUITING talent, but has to do a better job of RETAINING talent. That is the key to long term and consistent success.

It helps when you are able to pay your players NFL salaries.

Alabama players want to win a championship. End of story. Just sucks we lost so much last year and I guess this year already but I am excited about the new guys. The bama game will be our toughest game all year

Honestly they can have it. I look at this season as an exhibition season. A way to make our team better for next year and with so many of our starters being underclassman, it only helps us for next year. This season will always be viewed differently. For all we know there may not even be a championship game. I'd rather set ourselves up for a better season next year when the entire world will view the winner as the true champion not just the state that said champion came from.

Bama is hungry for that championship.

LSU players are a little drunk off last years and the older players have got a little selfish because of it and lost that fire.

Feel sorry for the young guys on our team.

Also we have always had an early entry problem and it seems that agents and outside influences get to our players early for some reason

Had Bama just won a championship, things would be different. Juniors and seniors want another before they leave.

Same here. Its been really nice since we beat them at their house. They are definitely humbled now. We still have a shot this year but definitely would have been better before the opt outs but oh well.

And they've had teams do it before, though obviously not under these same 1st of it's kind circumstances but sr laden teams that one back with the sole intent of winning another title

Can't find any reason to disagree with this belief. If they manage to keep they players as they have so far and have no major Rona outbreaks, I don't see anyone stopping them.

Sounds like someone needs to take one for the team and go gift them the rona before LSU game day. :)

(Kidding of course)

It will be the agent's that steer these players opt out.
Leatherwood, Harris, Smith and Waddle have no business playing as all four are likely first round picks.

Drug testing policies are even more relevant in this situation.
