Game Day atmosphere Big 10 in Jan should be terrific.

Getting to share the stage with middle of basketball season. Minus zero temps with winds and ice is stimulating for the soul. Tailgating will be fun.

Zero chance they have football in the spring. They are just saying that so their players don't jump ship.

average temp in Minnesota for the month of January: 22.

Spring football will never happen
If this is really about "the health of the players" why would you have them play months of a violent impact sport, twice in the same year with only a couple months rest between seasons before you start training camp again?

They are stalling to prevent transfers.

anyone with a chance of being drafted will skip the spring season.

I don't think they will ever play in the spring. If they do it would start no earlier than March, perhaps. I think it would be disruptive to the fall season.

Can’t see spring ball happening if COVID transmissions is their main concern. Projections I’ve seen don’t make it sound like any vaccine would be available until mid/late summer 2021. So, what’s the difference between playing football now and next spring?

How many players died or were hospitalized in the last two years that went straight from their senior year in college to play in the AAF in 2018 and XFL in 2019 with only a month break at most?
I've yet to find one example.

It's about the safety of the players, after all.

What a ridiculous response.
Of course, you didn't answer the actual question.

Exactly how many games did each team play in the AAF or the XFL?

There will be no spring season. It just makes no sense to do it then. Champaign weather isn’t near as bad as most of the B10 schools and you would still be hard pressed to find people that want to spend 4 hours outside

They wont have to worry about reduced capacity. Its going to look like those Packers playoff games

What does that have to do with it? No one complained that it was not safe.
Let’s try again...
The USFL lasted three seasons. Hundreds of college football seniors finished their last year of college and then went straight to the USFL to play an 18 game season right away. To take it even further, some of those same players were then picked up by an NFL team after the USFL season was completed and proceeded to play a full NFL season. That means that some players actually played THREE consecutive football seasons without an offseason.
No one ever died or were even hospitalized to my knowledge. Also, no one ever talked about how unsafe it was.
This also applied to the WLAF/NFL Europe.
Again, why was it never an issue then, but all of a sudden it is now?
Not trying to argue, just asking a legitimate question. I was a season ticket holder for the Birmingham Stallions.

It's all politics. 100%. These dip shits are all just power hungry and they love to abuse it. They don't give a shite about the health of players, students, fans, coaches, etc.
