Well, Georgia Tech is in Atlanta, so I'm gonna agree that it's a hell hole. Tech had a rather long rash of armed robberies on, and immediately around, campus not so long ago.

Red & White parallel bars is somewhat generic and not easily associated with the loser confederacy like the battle flag is
No one has ever photographed the CSA Flag at a klan rally or lynching, the battle flag has been, numerous times throughout history

Georgia's flag is just straight up the Stars and Bars with the GA state seal in it.
