Georgia has the literal confederate national flag as their flag, and they changed it TO THAT FLAG in early 2000s, and they admitted that in the press release.
Will the NCAA pull future Final 4 scheduled for ATL? Will the SEC seek a new stadium and state to host the SEC championship?
I’m all for changing the MS state flag, but Sankey and these NCAA clowns are such dishonest hacks. They can pick on Mississippi and score some cheap political points because it costs them nothing. They pretend to be making a stand but they are stopping short where it would affect their pocketbooks and they need to be called out. Either do everyone or nobody.
They are also punishing schools and players who have nothing to do with the decision. If the SEC or NCAA office was on fire I would not piss on it to put it out.

Yeah let's point the spotlight on Georgia for a while.

In case you’ve noticed the national movement isn’t just targeting “blatant” symbols... We are tearing down everything that isn’t perfect.
I really wish we had some coaches or admins with the balls to call out SEC and NCAA office. If Bianco said something about it they would be forced to respond. Why should he not get to host regionals while UGA does when our flags are equally offensive.

If we are going to ban confederate flags....Georgia's flag is essentially the confederate flag. Georgia Flag at the top...Flag of the Confederacy at the bottom. And an official flag....not the battle flag!!!

It’s moreso. Mississippi’s flag is the way it is because racists made it that way several decades ago.
Georgia has the actual confederate flag and that was a recent change.

Exactly. There is a difference between the official flag of the confederacy and the battle flag.

No it doesn't and the stars "original" Confederate flag stood for 13 CSA states and the 13 stars on the Georgia flags stand for the original 13 colonies.
The previous flags were changed because both incorporated the battle flag.

The flag GA went to was never co-opted by the klan etc to spread hate, unlike the "other" flag. Therefore, no big deal.

i'm sure louisiana will eventually have to change theirs too because the pelican is white.

So you're saying confederate paraphernalia is not being threatened by the masses? I'm not aware of any statues spreading hate

But if all symbols of the confederacy are to be banned, you can't say ban Mississippi's flag but not Georgia's. Seems hypocritical to me.

You would think Kiffin or Leach would have the nerve to do it!!! Be awesome if they put the onus on the SEC office.

Would be so easy. They would either be forced to realize ole miss and state can’t change anything or they would have to double down and punish the other schools too.

Where will this end? Arkansas’ flag is definitely inspired by the confederate flag imo. Arkansas Shouldn’t change it though. We should worry about low literacy rates, poverty rates, and health in the south (not a knock, I love the south, just a reality) instead we’re getting bogged down in things that won’t change anyone’s life but will just appease the mob. Sad state of affairs.

Must not be looking at the same thing. Where's the state seal in CFA flag?

I wholeheartedly agree. But hypocrites should be called hypocrites. Not just in the South too. Yale...they are coming for you.
