Am I the only one who cringes when they call the generic rebel flag the "stars and bars?" Just look at it, it has no bars ffs

The war was not fought over the issue of ending slavery. In fact, the South did not want war but was forced to defend themselves from northern aggression. The North offered to enshrine slavery forever before the war with a constitutional amendment but the South didn't want any part of that. The North had too good of a thing going by raping the South financially and didn't want their gravy train to end so they FORCED their will upon the south. After killing three quarters of a million young men in the prime of their lives, they tried to cover their greed by assigning "ending slavery" as the cause. Really? You do realize that once the South had left the union that "slavery" was almost nonexistent in the United States which was comprised of the northern part of the country. Slavery thus was not a problem for the US left behind after the South seceded.
Read a little more about the true causes of the war and the totally justified reasons for why the South did what it did. They knew they could not win a prolonged war and did not seek one. It was brought to them by their greedy Northern aggressors.

History is written by the winner of the war.. a war to end slavery sounds much better than the emancipation proclamation happening in 1863.

The flag GA went to was never co-opted by the klan etc to spread hate, unlike the "other" flag. Therefore, no big deal.

It wasn't the South that was genociding the Native Americans DURING the war. It wasn't the South that defeated the 13th Amendment in 1864. It wasn't the South that favored centralized govt. It wasn't the South that had children doing forced labor in factories.

Bitch, I voted Ron Paul in 2012, and Tulsi Gabbard, a woman of color, in the Democratic Party primary. I am not a fan of Trump, but I do prefer him to the cruel hoax that was Obama, whose intervention in Libya is why Blacks are now being sold as slaves in Libyan markets. As someone who has never supported the confederate flag, and had no ancestors fight on either side of the civil war, this is a stupid take. Its also completely untrue
