He was not awful against Florida. His defense was.

You know damn well that if UT had won in ‘94, Peyton Manning would claim it.

That pic six in 97 dispelled that.

Peyton Manning is phenomenal we all know that, but how clutch was he ?

He failed to win the ultimate prize at UT then was pedestrian in his two Super Bowl wins.

The Bears were kind of dogshit and the Broncos D was the hero of his second championship.

3-1 vs Brady in AFC Championship games.

Manning was good in the playoffs after that first super bowl win, before that you could say he was a choker. He was awful against the Patriots and shite the bed at home against the Steelers, could've saved everyone from Cowher, Bettis and all those other assholes from getting their only (undeserved) ring

Before he won his first super bowl. After that he was fine in the playoffs. The Broncos defense blew that game against the Ravens

11 catches for 231 yards on the season

33 Punt Returns for 283 yards and 1 TD
7 picks for 7 yards, 0 TD
Apparently 0 tackles? Not sure how that's right...

Okay, so the site I found didn't list any tackles, so I looked further and found this blurb from an article:

quote:

What I did know is that his stats weren’t going to be the answer. Trust, they were very good, but were they Peyton Manning good? Or Randy Moss good? Or even Ryan Leaf good? On defense, eight interceptions, nine pass breakups, 44 tackles (five for losses) and one sack. On offense, 12 receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns; 21 rushing yards and a touchdown. As a punt returner, 301 yards and a touchdown.

He was responsible for 4 touchdowns.

For context, Peyton Manning:
287/477, 60.2% completion, 3819 yards, 36 TDs and 11 INTs
He also had 3 rushing TDs

Kind of like Sham in 1973, any other year, he wins the triple Crown, but that year. Everyone wanted a defensive player to win, and Woodson was more charismatic.

Peyton Manning is the Alex Rodriguez of football.

Super talented, but a total choker. I have never seen a starting QB in the SEC have happy feet like Peyton. He also looks like he is about to cry when things don't go his way.

They both won championships with a great team around them and had great stats when it didn't matter. I watched ARod hit so many home runs for the Texas Rangers late in games that were already out of reach just like Manning vs Florida.

The difference between the two is Peyton seems like a great guy and ARod is a total dipstick.

Aaron Murray just about broke all those records. Does that make him better than Peyton???

The game was significantly different when Murray played. In 1997, the top five SEC Quarterbacks (yardage/TD) looked like this (ranked by yardage leaders):

Murray played in 7 more games than Manning (and had 11 more starts than Manning), had 100 more attempts than Manning, and had a lower career completion percentage. So...sure, I guess that makes him better than Manning.

And why did tee Martin basically win the title with that same team???
Tennessee's defense went from giving up over 22 points per game (8th best in the SEC) to giving up just over 14 (2nd in the SEC) from 1997 to 1998.

Woodson wasn’t even the best corner playing both ways that year, Champ Bailey was by a long shot.

I would have not traded Danny Wuerffel for Peyton Manning in college.

Florida must have recovered 4 onside kicks for it to be 35-0, right?
