I would assume they both want to try to pressure their customers to reach out to the other party to complain. There's a lot less urgency in the summer than there is on a Saturday morning in the middle of football season.

I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about, but any Vols fan blaming the loss on the refs are ridiculous IMO. UT had plenty of chances to take advantage of opportunities and simply didn't. You can't blame the refs when you don't care of your own business. Especially when SEC refs have been atrocious all year. That's not to say I didn't have my issues with the refs, I did, but I'm certainly not blaming the loss on them.

If our D doesn't play better Simpson is going to absolutely feast.
My memory might be fading, but I thought you were one of the few decent UT posters around here. This is a terrible post.

re: How big of a moral victory was that for Tennessee?

No moral victory here. It sucked. Hope the team rebounds and uses it to fuel the rest of the season. Like someone else said, everything is still in front of us.
My bad, I didn't know I had to specify that my statement applied to the thing we were discussing and didn't apply universally to all situations. Hard to anticipate just how dense some people can be.

You took an L in an unrelated thread, then made another thread about this and took an L, so you're back trying again. Congrats on your 8-4 seasons tho.

Did you really need to make another thread about this? Also, the record is the only thing that matters. No one cares about average opponent ranking or PF/PA or any of the rest of it really. Did you win or did you lose.

Agreed, dude is a shitty alter. We're dangerously thin on the interior DL, are down our top 2 CBs, we're thin at S, and our O hasn't played even a decent defense yet.
Can we beat UGA? Absolutely. But they're favorites for a reason, and we have not scored many on them for many years now. Pretty much every real Vols fan in this thread has said as much and hate this troll alter.

I'm (A MAN, I'M) 40, if any Vols fans are hating on Barnes, whatever. We all want that first final 4, but if you're unhappy with consistent sweet 16s, elite 8s, and challenging for conference titles in the best period of SEC basketball ever, you just haven't been around long enough.
Similar to baseball. Just fricking enjoy and appreciate this shite. I'm old enough to remember watching our football team be a real force and win a title. The past few years of baseball and basketball have been the most sustained success in my lifetime. It's been at times heartbreaking, and other times really fun to watch.
Enjoy it while you can. I've watched our big 3 burn like a dumpster fire for a long time.

This is the most underrated Tennessee football team I've ever seen. We finally have the proper blue chip talent ranking to really compete for and win a national championship.
Our defense is deeper than it's been since the Chavis days. Dline is loaded and our linebackers are as deep as any group in the nation. Secondary will be led by future NFL players Jermod McCoy and Colton Hood and has plenty of young talent.
Running back room is just as loaded and deep.
Vols are back.
If Joey Football is as good as Hooker was in 2021 let alone 2022 we are winning a national championship.
Huge questions on the OL and at QB make the chances of this being an underwhelming season pretty high. The defense should be very good again, but we lost JPJ to the 1st round of the draft, which I actually don't think will be a huge deal due to the depth we have on the line, but we also definitely don't beat UF without him last year.
McCoy is a stud, but he's also coming back from a torn ACL and we don't know when he'll be game ready, or how it might affect him mentally when he does first come back.
The RB room has some pieces, but until we see it on the field I wouldn't describe them as loaded.
IF the OL gels quickly, Aguilar clicks in the system and limits turnovers, the Vols can be better than a lot of people think. Those are some mighty big ifs. Expecting Aguilar to be as good as Hooker was means you forgot how good Hooker was or you're highly delusional. Pretty sure it's the latter.
That had to be an amazing experience for those students. I think it would be really cool if any of them continued their connections with their international counterparts and started a business in or around high quality meat.
I read the OP, but didn't go any further in my research about the question I'm about to ask. How does it work to have individual teams judging something when they're competing like that? Is there some sort of board or panel that is making decisions about which team is best?

re: Hate to see it, Tennessee having locker room issues.

I mean the kid went to like 5 different high schools so the fact that there are issues shouldn't shock anyone. He said he wanted to play both ways this coming season and it sounds like we agreed and gave him a bag. Then he fricks off and misses team activities. Man I'd kill to have an Al Wilson in the locker room to beat the shite out of these types.

Love that you included the juggernaut that is FSU in this. Also, Syracuse beat Miami last year when Miami had the number 1 overall pick in the draft at QB. And on top of both of those things you included that Florida is playing the Vols, as if UT could play themselves.
UT's coaching staff didn't think he was worth what he was asking, and the way he went about asking may have factored into that. As we all saw, the rest of the market agreed.

Lane has slimmed way back down.
Tulane has pulled out of his recruitment per Nakos of On3.

If Nico takes a pay cut at a step down, which seems entirely possible though not guaranteed, I hope it gives pause to anyone thinking about it.
And if they do, I hope they get told to kick rocks. I'm not anti-NIL. I am anti-NIL and unrestricted transfers multiple times a year.
I've said for a long time players should get compensated, but the current system is just dumb. And every time I talk about it, I blame the NCAA for being stubborn, greedy, behind the 8 ball mfers that had decades to see the writing on the wall and do something.
Instead the courts said y'all are fricking idiots. There's no reason not to give the players what they want, consequences be damned.
As a former college athlete that's now in my late 30s, I guess that's my boomer soap box.

Yeah, was waiting to withhold judgement yesterday. Now that he no-showed practice, I won't be disappointed at all if UT tells him to kick rocks. Trying to hold the team hostage for a raise is shitty. It has to hurt team morale and make it very easy for the locker room to become divided.
What's absolutely insane to me is that he's trying to get a raise after his performance last year. Sampson and the D carried UT last year. If Nico was worth even the money he's reportedly currently making, UT would have hosted a playoff game instead of going to Ohio.
I still think his ceiling is incredibly high, and it wouldn't surprise me if he goes somewhere else and balls out, but at this point I hope UT doesn't budge. And if he comes back I hope he's ready to be booed anytime he misses a read or open receiver.
