Most underrated SEC QB of the last decade?

For Alabama, I nominate Jake Coker. The kid was a baller when we needed him to be and was 14-0 as a starter. He finished his one and only season as the starter with over 3,000 passing yards, 21 TDs, and 8 INTs. He also completed 67% of his passes.
Also...who doesn't love this touchdown pass?

I remember when Jacob decided to go to bama. I said well eff, now they have a great qb. We’re all playing for second place now.

I mean, Connor Shaw was 27-5 as a starter, never lost at home as a starter. 56 TDs passing TDs, 17 rushing TDs. Never really hear him talked about because of where he played.

Connor Shaw would be a good selection. Clearly not the most talented QB to ever suit up, but he showed up in games when it mattered. A 27-5 overall record as a starter at South Carolina and 17-0 at home is pretty remarkable.

I was going to say Shaw as well. And played through multiple injuries.

Chad Kelly
At the time in 2015 he had the third most total yards in a season by an SEC QB. Only behind Manziel's two seasons. Dude had a fricking cannon and incredible accuracy on deep throws

Mettenberger...gets shite because fat Chavis tanked the defense while he was here.

Would be my answer.

Joe Burrow was the most underrated QB in 2018.
Gumps were clucking after their 29-0 Win at LSU, with no idea of the 44-16 slaughter that awaited them vs Clemson.
Then the Spread and Shredcame to TigerTown and it was 2019, a new season.
Clemson Slaughterers became those that were SLAUGHTERED with underrated Joe Burrow taking a knee at the Clemson 3 with two minutes remaining.
And it all happened in the blink of an unbelieving eye.
In the new decade, the most underrated will likely be Myles Brennan, lead gunslinger in Year 2 of the Spread and Shred

Connor Shaw is my answer as well. Combination of playing at Carolina and being in the league at the same time as a whole host of very good/great college QBs.

Reading that thread, do some bama fans think Burrow shouldn’t have been the heisman or something?
Seems like they are trying to minimize his heisman moment play against Georgia by saying that any play where a QB scrambles to avoid being tackled and the throw the ball deep is the same situation.
Or are they trying to say Coker should’ve been heisman? Not sure which
Sounds like they also think he only won it because bama injuries.

James Franklin comes to mind for Mizzou but he only played his last 2 years in the SEC. 51 passing TDs and 21 rushing TDs. Also led Mizzou to SEC championship game in 2013 while playing injured. Overlooked because of where he played.

Didn't he go like a month without throwing a touchdown pass?

Ah yes, I remember. It was going to be different that year. Night time in death valley, blah blah blash. What a bloodbath that was. Just like in 2016, they could've played for 12 quarters and LSU wouldn't have scored.
As for the OP, it's gotta be Connor Shaw. SC was regularly a top 10 team while he was there. If we go back a little further I'd throw Andre Woodson's name into the ring. He got Kentucky in the top 10

I think Connor Shaw is the answer but I might throw Chad Kelly into the mix.

Well it's twitter, so, I'd conclude that those people are probably just very stupid?

Kelly was great for sure but I have to mention a very unpopular opinion.
Bo Wallace. He definitely was inconsistent with his play however he played through a separated shoulder injury for a good portion of his career. His senior year in 2014 he also played with an injured ankle at his last home game. He wasn't the greatest by no means but he definitely helped build up that team.
