What are the chances the SEC moves to pod scheduling?

There was talk during the season about the SEC rethinking the divisions and inter-divisional matchups - this would be a great solution to keep most people happy.

Zero in a bazillion in the next 5 years. 1 in a bazillion after that.

Zero. AU/UA/UGA/UT will need to schedule their rivalry games an OOC. It isnt really conducive with 14 teams to construct a conference around those teams.

Zero unless the conference expands to 16.

Or maybe cut it back to twelve again. But who gets booted along with Mizzou? At least USCe, Arky, and A&M know a bit about being southern.

As long as Big 12 teams routinely make the playoffs with one loss, I don’t think the SEC should change anything. The current setup allows us to get two teams in.
If the rest of college football wasn’t so shitty relative to the SEC, and the committee was willing to rank a two loss SEC team over a one less team from another conference, I’d be for the three permanent opponents and then rotating 5 other model.

To be clear, the “roommate switch” idea floated around for years, where you have changing divisions, does allow for two teams to make the playoff, but I never liked their selections for permanent opponents.

Why don’t we put these crybaby fairy **** motherfrickers in one division and they can play each other every year and we won’t have to schedule all the rest of our games around them?
AU
UA
UGA
UT
Vandy
Mizzou
SCAR
FU
LSU
Kentucky
Arky
State
Ole Piss
Aggots
Then they can suck each other’s arse and play with each other’s nuts every year and the rest of us wouldn’t be held hostage to their must play rivalries and stupid arse permanent cross division games.
Give Auburn, Georgia, bama and Tennessee what they want and let them play each other every year and weaken the division by throwing in Mizzou, Vandy and Scar to give them some easy wins so the division isn’t too hard and they cry like a pregnant 14 year old.
They will never go for it because they are pussies.
It’s fricking stupid to put 4 teams that just HAVE to play each other every year in different division. Only idiots from Alabama could come up with something as stupid as what we have now. Only people from Alabama can be so god damn stupid.

Because you crying babies would claim your division is TOO EASY.

No way in Hell will DSOR nor TSIO be NON-CONF. games.

Because the SEC office is in Birmingham and we make the rules.

This topic is 1 of the most talked about on this board.
Honestly, there's not a good format that works with 14 teams & the required rivalry CONF. games.
- You can't switch divisions because that'll make 1 side either too heavy OR possibly eliminate 1 (or more) rivalries.
- SEC WON'T play these rivalry games as non-conf. games.
- There is NO FAIR format that allows some teams to keep c-d games & others not.
- The link you posted won't work unless you switch some of the teams around.
- Non-division requires numerous tie-breakers to compare every team to each other due to lack of common opponents.
- 9 conf. games creates the dreaded 4H/5A & 4A/5H issue...which, as I've pointed out before, hurts schools (like UGA) who have an in-state OOC rival & requires 7H/season. (10 conf. games makes that even worse.)
- How do you determine who should be in the CG from whatever plan you decide upon?
As I've stated in the past, the SEC SHOULD HAVE looked @ scheduling WHEN they decided to increase the conf. members. Unfortunately, the easier paths in scheduling require adding 2 or removing 2 teams. &, just my take, I feel like the P5 will be the P4 & everybody gaining new members in the new future.

What? I've seen multiple pod scenerios that has 3 permanents and rotating 5 or 6.
You can easily keep those traditional rivals in tact.

Just like I said
Pussies
Auburn is a perpetual 3 loss team
Tennessee getting 7 wins is a miracle
Georgia hasn’t had an offense since 1980
Bama would still dominate
Georgia , Bama, AU and tenn isn’t as hard as the SEC west is now.
But the dream matchups of bama vs Tennessee or Bama vs Georgia every year in the championship won’t let this happen. The permanent cross division rivalry must end and if there are games that just have to be played, put the teams in the same division.

WTF are you talking about? You can easily have a pod system with 3 permanents and rotate the rest.Is it that difficult to comprehend?
Bill Connelly already addressed scheduling
with 3 permanents SEC pod scheduling

What?I have Know freakin clue what your talking
about and why would Bama vs UT be a dream
matchup in the SECCG? Regardless,it's still possible to have the matchup with a pod system.
