Was it contractual obligations or one last attempt at reliving the feeling of a winner?

It’s not like he asked to go on there

He was probably asked and compensated well.

Why would that be sad?

He is a guy that has been there many times. His input is priceless.

I think he was pissed because Jimbo showed up wearing a similar shade of blue.

Jesus bro people like you make this fan base look stupid.
Just stop back away from the computer. We aren’t amateurs winning 3 in the last 16 but you sure act like it bro.
He won a Title 2 years ago. My bet is he will win one more before he retires.

Recruiting advantage. He's seen. He's the most famous person in CFB. He's the only CFB coach with a national commercial campaign/deal. Casual fans know who he is.

Everything's recruiting.

He's won 5 national titles at Alabama. LSU has a portion of their fanbase that is insanely stupid in thinking Saban wishes he was at LSU and that LSU is somehow a better program than Alabama

Correct me if I’m wrong? He has been on set with ESPN at every national championship he’s not been coaching in recent memory. I got a dollar that says coach O will not be on set next year, pre game.... and it’s not because he’s coaching in the game, it’s because you can’t understand shite he says.

This is way overblown. Virtually NO LSU Fans think either one of these things.

Just stop with this nonsense. What’s sad is you starting a thread on the topic. Personally, I thought Saban was fantastic. His insights and analysis of the two teams and the game was great.

Saban is a great Ambassador for Alabama. His presence on National games is an outstanding recruiting tool. If I’m a Bama Fan, I’m very proud and happy my coach is asked to do analysis like he does.

He’s been at every national championship that Alabama wasn’t in except for 2007 and 2008, when the national championship game was still on Fox.

I was thinking it just highlighted his demand and importance in the sport, but yours sounds much more plausible.
