But yes, nobody awarded the 1908 team an NC Trophy in late fall of 1908. So I understand where you are coming from. LSU's Criteria for what gets recognized in the stadium is when the Nationally recognized organization awards the Championship and there are only 3 such Consensus NCs that meet that strict criteria, 1958 AP-UPI, 2003 and 2007 BCS.

LSU should be commended for only claiming AP/Coaches (unlike most programs).

Good, because asterisks demand some explaining, and I wouldn't like sounding like an Alabama fan trying to explain something:

"Well, they're not exactly forfeits, they're more like vacancies. While they show up as an "L" on your record, they're not really losses. You don't get them from cheating, you get them from being caught cheating. While it may seem a bit nuanced, it's really very simple..."

frick that.

More all-time NCAA victories? UGA (about 20-30 more than LSU) UGA is #11, LSU is #12
More bowl games? About even?
More NCs - LSU ?
More All Americans? About even I believe?
More Heismans? Fixing to be about even
Traditions, history, mascots? About even. Mike VII and Uga are two of the best in CFB.
Stadium? LSU, slightly
Uniforms? LSU, slightly

Overall? About even.

People misunderstand your post all the time

LSU is closer to being a blue blood than UGA since 2000.

If we did like everybody else. We would have 7 right now!

While I agree with this nationally, I took the OP to mean a strictly SEC blue blood.

But both teams sit right on the edge of the top ten all time nationally, with Tennessee right on the inside edge. If you're not at least top ten, you're not in the conversation for blue blood. Tennessee's slipping out of the conversation, and LSU and UGA are poised to be in it.

Blue Blood....

Michigan is considered a “Blue Blood”. But... what the hell has Michigan done over the last 40 years to warrant being considered an Elite Blueblood? The only thing Michigan has in their favor is that they won a bunch of games a long, long time ago.

Give me what LSU has accomplished over the last 20 years all day, every day over what Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, etc accomplished 40–100 years ago.

They're still blue blood. At least 800 wins and a .700 win percentage (which is why Nebraska and USC are currently on probation).

Neither are blue bloods but UGA has won more SEC titles and more games.

Georgia is, but only slightly. Truthfully, everything considered they're pretty even. UGA has more overall wins, more bowl games, more bowl game wins, more Heisman winners, more SEC championships, even in national title recognitions by the NCAA...LSU leads slightly in head-to-head, slightly ahead in NFL drafts and slightly ahead in consensus All-Americans.

How many of the UGA NCs are since the consensus AP Poll started in 1936? LSU's policies on what can be recognized are apparently much more stringent than other SEC schools.

strictly speaking, blood status doesn't change. It is the old money, new money, no money and aristocratic blue bloods vs the others storyline in the Great Gatsby.

They're the first 2 programs right outside the "blue bloods." Honestly who gives a frick about blue blood status these days when Nebraska, Miami, ND, etc. have that status and none of them will ever win anything else significant.

I view both pretty closely overall and that’s a compliment to either school. I usually pull for Georgia in the east as long as it doesn’t impact LSU.

Miami isn’t and never will be a Blue Blood, Chief. Blue Bloods don’t wear camo.
