So pathetic. Is this their sad attempt at trying to get students to stay the entire game?

To provide more in-game social opportunities for the student body, Ole Miss is testing party decks at the top of the student section in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for the 2019 season.

They just need to build a big arse tarp to hang over the student section so they quit bitching about being hot. These party decks aren't going to accomplish anything other than taking their attention away from the game.

As someone who graduated pretty recently, I’ll say that I wish that they’d just make most of it general admission. Ninety percent of the students don’t give a frick about the game regardless of who we play. They’re there to take selfies, drink the alcohol they smuggled, and leave at halftime. It’s too much of a social event for most of them.

I don’t want to get into a discussion about Luke since that’s been hashed out 100 times now. But I agree with you about the mindset. It’s complete bullshite. It always pissed me off to hear people say “we may lose the game but we never lose the party.” frick that, I want to see the team win. Then again, I guess I was lucky enough to be there during the Chad Kelly Sugar Bowl year so maybe I just have higher expectations than most.

To be fair, that's every student section. If you want to keep students in the seats you have to be good and play in big games. That's the only way.

I think some of it may be not really caring about college football in regards to students. Also, the grove, more alcohol, I agree.
We have fans that are 100% care about what happens inside VHS not the grove. Maybe a small % but somebody planning on sitting awhile in the cushion blue seats.

I definitely know the type HJJ is referring to. Good ole boy shite. Jackass wearing a blazer and cowboy boots in 90 degree humidity with a swoop haircut that looks like a dried swirly, who maybe makes it into the stadium for a quarter of the game. “Hey mane, let’s go late night back at da house.” “John, it’s 6:30 and the third quarter just started....”

We have a shite ton of out of state kids that don’t care about Ole Miss athletics

Sell beer
Win games

As someone who just graduated (from NC) and didn't care whatsoever till I attended here, I hope this isn't the case for the majority of out of staters

Just saw a picture. Looks very cool, something I haven't seen elsewhere. They're just putting a roof on the speakers and building a deck. I really don't think it has anything to do with getting students to stay. It does look like it will take up some seat space.
