Former @AlabamaFTBL coach Mike Dubose taking over at @OppBobcatFB. Asked him about his expectations this season, “To win games.” Enough said.

I feel like he's been in and out as the head coach of Opp for the last 15 years.

Damien Harris is easily one of the most underappreciated backs we've had in recent years. Hope he is able to break out in 2021, as the article indicates.
Ya’ll member when that one dude melted the total frick down when he came back for his senior season.
Dude had a hate boner for him cuz he wasn’t 6’3” 230 and swore that his returning was going to throw off the time tables and recruiting in the RB room until the end of times.
To be faiiiir, we have had a couple RBs stay for their senior season since then. Not sure if that’s a bad think though.

Here are a few things I heard over the weekend ahead of the unofficial kickoff of football season.
-- Wide receivers Jameson Williams and Christian Leary were both impressive on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both wideouts made plays for the second team, and Williams was bumped up to the ones on Thursday. We've consistently heard that Williams has turned heads since arriving on campus, but Leary seems to be coming on of late.
-- For anyone still wondering, freshman running back Camar Wheaton is indeed on campus, and he had a really impressive week, according to one source. That same source had high praise for Jase McClellan and Trey Sanders -- the latter of which is good news to hear considering what Sanders has dealt with over the last two years.
-- The team will 7-on-7 on Tuesday-Thursday over the next couple of weeks before the start of fall camp, which is slated for Thursday, Aug. 5.

Terrific news. We need play makers to emerge. Williams is legit and could be a day one starter. Really hope that Trey Sanders is good to go.

Jase is the best back on the roster right now

Xavier Williams is not on the latest 2021 roster. However, King Mwikuta is listed.

Wide receiver Xavier Williams not listed on Alabama's updated roster (247)
Xavier Williams is on the RollTide.com Roster. King Mwikuta is too, although 247 says he's in the transfer portal.

-- During 7-on-7 work, the first-team receivers have been John Metchie, Slade Bolden and Javon Baker, but the two noteworthy things I heard on the wideouts were about the new guys, Jameson Williams and JoJo Earle. Williams continues to impress and has clearly been the fastest receiver on the field. As for Earle, one source said he has twitch that the others don't. He is also wearing No. 10. I pointed out the starters to say these other two are definitely going to be in the mix come fall camp.
-- Another newcomer, Henry To'o To'o, has rotated with Christian Harris and Jaylen Moody at inside linebacker. Harris will be on the field, so the competition will continue to be between To'o To'o and Moody for the other spot. When it comes to the reserves, I continue to hear good things about Deontae Lawson. He has a bright future.
-- No surprise here, but Bryce Young has seen all of the first-team reps at quarterback, while Paul Tyson has received all of the second-team reps.
-- Closing this out with the secondary, DeMarcco Hellams could be a breakout star this season since he seems primed to lock down a permanent first-team role. He had a couple of interceptions during a recent player-run workout. Hellams and Jordan Battle have been the first-team safeties this summer, while Malachi Moore is back at Star with the ones after missing the spring. Josh Jobe and Jalyn Armour-Davis have been the first-teamers at cornerback, with Kool-Aid McKinstry right behind them.

So Williams is faster than all the freshman? I'm a little bit surprised by that, but that's why Saban brought him in.
